Rubio Support for Article V Convention Causes Establishment Heartburn
Conservative Review ^ | Jan 1, 2016 | CR Wire

Senator Marco Rubio's recent support for an Article V Convention of the States is causing some folks heartburn.

Noah Rothman at Commentary calls Rubio's support for a Convention of the States a Pander for the Ages.

Rather than taking Rubio at his word and assuming this is a principled stand, Rothman argues that Rubio's support for the Convention of the States is a politically strategic rouse.

As a political maneuver, Rubio’s latest is a deft one. Hardened by influential talk show hosts who have spent months inveighing against his support of a 2013 immigration reform bill, Rubio will need to soften the beaches of conservative opposition to his candidacy if he is to win the GOP nomination.

This did not sit well with CR Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin, who plans to raise the topic this coming Monday on his nationally syndicated radio show.

MARCO RUBIO Can't decide if he's establishment or conservative.

When one can't make a stand, they have no principles and are not very trustworthy.

Rubio is totally finished. He was upChuck Schumer’s butt boy in the Amnesty attempt in the Senate. He steals from other folks credit cards . When he got caught it took him months to pay it back. Did you know if you rob a bank, you can’t say “I’m sorry “ and pay it back. This 5’6’ Napoleonic jack ass in finished.

Enough of this “support” bull$hit.

Like whether a politician “supports” the 2nd Amendment.

It’s in the US Constitution. They don’t have a choice but to support it.

If they don’t, they should be tarred-and-feathered and introduced to the gallows, effing tyrants.

I don’t care whether Amnesty Rubio supports a convention of the states. It’s in the US Constitution. If we convene and pass amendments, they become the law of the land.

And yes, unlike the limp-wristed Obammie the Commie and his Executive Orders, we can and will enforce the Amendments.

Marco Rubio was born to Cuban foreign nationals. He is NOT a natural born Citizen and is not Constitutionally eligible to be president.

Even as a political move this is bad. What no one seems to understand is that the real conservative movement individuals are incredibly well read, follow closely, don't get their information from a once-a-week highlight real on the MSM. Hillary might be able to get away with a fake nod to some interest group, and Jeb ...

In fact if it wasn't already the end, this is the end. At least Jeb IS something. This guy is a total sham.

Well .. it looks to me as if he’s doing it just to try to get some conservative street cred.

Sorry Rubio .. we’re not buying it.

Along with their partners who send pork to them.

Hardly.

They know he is lying, just trying to get back a few of the TEA party voters that he has stabbed in the back, for the benefit of his new Establishment friends. so many times since they elected him.

“This guy is a total sham.”

Exactly! Rubio is the republican equivalent of Obama. Pretty much a pile of mud (politely) being shaped by his Uniparty and ‘secret’ society handlers.

Well, I do not think Rubio is sincere. I think he is trying to manipulate people with yet another campaign position he has no intention of following through on. Still, insincere support is at least a voice. I don’t trust Rubio further than i can throw him. I will never vote for him. If he wants to advocate for something I agree with, great. I’ll take it. I still don’t trust him.

He knows what he is. He is practicing what those establishment dudes do all the time. He is counting on you seeing one thing you might agree with to deceive you.

He is gang of eight and always will be.

I certainly hope so. Like a bad penny, it is never lost, only misplaced to turn up at an inconvenient opportunity. Bury him with a cross and lots of garlic.

He’s basically announcing a position on an issue that is irrelevant or beyond the control of federal officials in an effort to fool conservatives into thinking he’s on their side, but once elected he will implement his liberal agenda.

For example, Rubio may say he’s anti-abortion. Doesn’t matter, train has left the station, abortion isn’t going anywhere, but he passes a useless conservative litmus test.

For example, Rubio may say he’s pro-traditional marriage. Doesn’t matter. Train has left the station. Gay marriage isn’t going anywhere, but he passes another useless conservative litmus test.

Rubio says he’s pro-Article V. Doesn’t matter. It’s up to the states to do this or not. What a federal official thinks about it is irrelevant, but he passes another useless conservative litmus test.

This is nothing more than a trick used by liberals to appear conservative.

Huckabee is another example of someone like this.
