Sylvester Stallone on Donald Trump, Republicans and Running for Office
Variety ^ | January 8, 2016 | Ramin Setoodeh

Posted on 01/09/2016 12:40:18 PM PST by EveningStar

...Although [Sylvester Stallone has] been called a Republican, for supporting John McCain's 2008 presidential run, Stallone says he's not a member of the GOP. "May the best fighter win," he said. "I don't think you can be totally one-sided forever. Then you close your mind to all sorts of possibilities. It's just, 'Who comes along better at that time for what the planet is going through?' Right now, it's pretty confusing on every side."

What does he think of the Republican frontrunner? "I love Donald Trump," he said. "He's a great Dickensian character. You know what I mean? There are certain people like Arnold, Babe Ruth, that are bigger than life. But I don't know how that translates"--he let out a laugh--"to running the world."...

As if I would put any value in the opinion of an actor that can’t even make an intelligent decision on plastic surgery.

Hmmmmmmmmm...well, he isn't Mr. Micawber, nor is he David Copperfield, Nickolas Nickleby, or even Little Dorrit. Mr. Pickwick or one of his friends? Nope!

Fagan? HELL NO !

Oliver Twist? NO AGAIN!

So before I list every character that Dickens ever wrote, I'll just say that old Sly is being too "cute" by far.

Stallone had previously said publicly that he was working on "Rambo V," but he thinks the character is done.

And all those ISIS butts to kick.

Where's Chuck Norris?

I liked the first Rambo movie, "First Blood", where he kicked the heck out of the small town Sheriff and local National Guard. He needs a new Rambo movie where he kicks PC federal butt in Wash DC, on behalf of regular Americans, to do away with over-regulation and oppressive Dem rule.

While I agree with your sentiment, I don't think Stallone was going there. But you nailed it.

Dickensian character????

You have to forgive Sly. He speaks his mind and doesn't know the meaning of the word "fear". Nor does he know the meaning of a lot of other words.

I hear you. Sly doesn’t project the dazzling urbanite in a rustic setting very well! LOL

Perhaps he meant “Rabelaisian” but the thought got mugged on its way to his lips.

I liked First Blood too.

But Brian Dennehy is too nice a guy to play the sheriff and have me take complete pleasure in his comeuppance.

Rambo II was good too. Nonstop action and kicking Commie butt!

You’re right, we could use that in DC.
