ANDREW BREITBART: Donald Trump Is Not A Conservative (2011)
Business Insider ^ | Apr. 23, 2011 | Steven Loeb

Posted on 01/12/2016 11:26:35 AM PST by justlittleoleme

Appearing on the O'Reilly Factor last night, with guest host Juan Williams, radio host Leslie Marshall and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart agreed that a potential Donald Trump candidacy is a bad sign for America.

Marshall warned America about what happens when you elect a celebrity for office like they did in California with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"No experience, a lot of celebrity and a lot of cult of personality. And we see more of that in politics. So I would say don't underestimate the Donald.

-snip-

"Quite frankly, this celebrity goes a long way. Remember, the number one reason people vote for a candidate, Juan, is name recognition. He has huge name recognition."

Breitbart also did not seem to be a fan of Trump either, saying "he is not a conservative." He also had a warning for Republicans if they don't get their act together.

"Celebrity is everything in this country. And if these guys don't learn how to play the media the way that Barack Obama played the media last election cycle and the way that Donald Trump is playing the election cycle, we're going to probably get a celebrity candidate."

Don’t think so. He is abrasive, defensive and at times nasty. If this is a cult of personality it is based on negative personality traits, not positive. He is viscerally connecting with huuuge numbers of Americans. This needs t oplay out. Obama and the progs have done too much damage for too long to let the moment pass. There must be dues paid by those who have sought the destruction of this nation. If Trump does not do it someone else will but it must be done.

“If this is a cult of personality it is based on negative personality traits, not positive.”

That’s one of the biggest pieces of evidence that we are witnessing a cult of personality. He can get away with saying ANYTHING and his followers will still follow him, because they have a cultish devotion to him. Ordinary politicians cannot pull that off, because they are not insulated by their cult of personality.

Think for yourselves, people. Andrew Breitbart was a great man, but he was commenting about Trump back in 2011. We don’t know what he would say today. All people had to go on back then, was Trump’s life and public statements up till that time. His donations to both political parties, and the occasional public statements he would give on the issues were shaped by his status as a businessman. Also, 5 years is a long enough period for someone to genuinely evolve on the issues.

“Breitbart taught the tea party patriots ( the actual ppl , not just the organization ) how to fight back . He gave us the courage to just go ahead and (figuratively) punch the Liberal pukes in the nose . “

I think Lee Atwater was showing conservatives how to punch back in the Reagan days. But Lee outraged the sissies in the GOPe who would rather lose than fight so when he died young there was no one around to carry on.

And let’s remember, Breitbart helped found Huffington Post and was a proponent of gay marriage. So...

supporters of either of these candidates to go blowing up bridges that can’t be quickly rebuilt.

There is no bridge from Conservatism to Trump. There never has been, and there never will be.

Trump may not be philosophically conservative, but he is philosophically American.

No, he is philosophically Trump. That is all.

He is the wrench available to throw into the wheels of The Cheap Labor Express.

Riiight. The guy who hires undocumented workers and H1B workers is going to stop the cheap labor express.

I think people see what they want to and FR is now grand central station for believers in Trump. So if people believe in him they put on their Trump colored glasses. As for myself I think Im looking at the same guy who thought Bill and Hill were great

With trump I’ve seen him take down Jeb Bush.

Hit the media hard in a way no other candidate has.

Bring up Islamic terrorism and rampant illegal alien criminality in a way no other politician ever has. (Carson also regarding Islam).

This is real.

I can’t deny it.

Convenient how liberals always seem to “evolve” that quickly when the decide to run for the Republican nomination. Most liberals I know don’t evolve at all after they graduate college.

‘Most liberals I know don’t evolve at all after they graduate college.’

Same with certain simple minded Freepers. They cling to a misguided belief despite all the evidence to the contrary. A strange mixture of pride and stupidity.
