Drug overdoses are driving up the death rate of young white adults in the United States to levels not seen since the end of the AIDS epidemic more than two decades ago — a turn of fortune that stands in sharp contrast to falling death rates for young blacks, a New York Times analysis of death certificates has found.
The rising death rates for those young white adults, ages 25 to 34, make them the first generation since the Vietnam War years of the mid-1960s to experience higher death rates in early adulthood than the generation that preceded it.
The Times analyzed nearly 60 million death certificates collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 1990 to 2014. It found death rates for non-Hispanic whites either rising or flattening for all the adult age groups under 65 — a trend that was particularly pronounced in women — even as medical advances sharply reduce deaths from traditional killers like heart disease. Death rates for blacks and most Hispanic groups continued to fall.
The analysis shows that the rise in white mortality extends well beyond the 45- to 54-year-old age group documented by a pair of Princeton economists in a research paper that startled policy makers and politicians two months ago.

Go pick out a southern county at random and force drug tests upon death. For the crowd under the age of forty who pass on....I’d say that more than ten-percent will have some type of illicit drug in their system. Go look at meth usage, heroin on the upswing, and pain-killer usage.
Now they have their excuse to make pain medicine even more controlled... Obama was mentioned prescription drug abuse too. Just the other day I heard the Feds want to lower the blood alcohol limit to 0.05. I see a pattern.
The white folks dying from drug overdoses are mostly Dems and their kids.

From what I’ve read, the worst afflicted - lower income whites in places like Mississippi and West Virginia - have only a moderate Democrat tilt.
Well it seems that within a year of taking office, Obama stopped the decline in Black and Hispanic death rates.

The only problems is that they will still vote often.
Is it coincidence? Boma, and Holder’s war on White Men? Is the heroin and methamphetamine traceable back to the MB?
First get rid of all the blue collar jobs and then make the drugs readily available.

I don’t think so; here in the northeast many young whites in wealthy areas are using heroin - we’ve even changed laws to treat dealers as murderers (which we never did for the urban drug plague). I suspect many young people are simply despairing because they have no future (or are being worked to death to make ends meet), so they medicate themselves. My area has seen a large increase in DUIs as well, and many aren’t kids; people of all ages are under tremendous pressure financially.
This may explain Trump’s support levels, as people look for anyone who will talk about jobs. For Obama and his base, this never meant anything at all - and it shows in how he governed.
It’s the mistake of re-legalizing alcohol coming to fruition.
