WARREN, Mich. - An employee at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren stabbed by someone visiting the plant Wednesday.

The 52-year-old victim was hospitalized and suspect arrested by police - but the valet service supervisor with a valid CPL who pulled his gun to stop the attack, says he was fired.

Didarul Sarder, SP+ Valet Supervisor was heading into work Wednesday morning at the General motors technical center in Warren, when he heard the cry for help.

The lady kept saying 'I'm dying, someone help' and it was just natural reaction," said Didarul Sarder, SP+ Valet Supervisor. "I just see this lady getting stabbed. I only had like half a second to think and I un-holstered my firearm and pointed it at her to drop the knife."

...

Sarder told the woman to freeze until she was arrested by police.

... saved this woman's life."

"I hope so, I hope she makes it," Sarder said. "Maybe those few seconds before the police arrived could be the difference between life and death."

...

The victim, identified as Stephanie Kerr, is in critical condition, and lucky the stabbing didn't go any further, according to city officials. All of which is why Sarder says he was surprised to be fired on the spot by a GM employee, then escorted off the property.

"He said, 'You shouldn't have had a firearm here,'" Sarder said. "'After this is done he needs to be escorted off the property. He's not welcome back here.'

...

Police and Mayor of Warren Jim Fouts say Sarder is a hero who should be honored.

"Had it not been for his quick action and quick thinking, pulling out his concealed weapon, she might have been murdered on site," Fouts said.

Corruption begins in the hearts of people who no longer know what is and isn’t moral.

If guns cause crime and guns are bad, why wasn’t the gun escorted off. According to the press, it is the gun’s fault. Seemingly it is never the perp’s fault, why is this guy at fault? Oh yeah, he played by the rules; silly me.

i work in a college. during a discussion of firearms and school shootings, i was told that they needn’t worry - that i would get my gun and stop things. i looked up and said “you put so much effort to keep me from defending myself, don’t expect me to lift a finger to defend you.” i’m behind two sturdy doors and a cinderblock wall, not behind an open windowed office like them.

Good job, YOU’RE FIRED.

Life in the USA these days.

If he’d pulled out a Pride flag and waved it at the perp, he would have been promoted. That’s what corporations are all about these days.

Huh. Turns out the perp was the victim’s own daughter. My mom could be a royal be-atch, but I never thought to stab her.

GM officials, however, deny firing Sarder, saying in a statement, "Because this is an ongoing investigation we cannot comment. However, we can say GM has not requested the valet be dismissed. To our knowledge the valet remains an employee of the vendor."

A Clintonesque response. The guy is an employee of a GM contractor. The GM guy tossed him off of working at the GM location.

Prayers that his 2nd amendment rights will not be violated and that he will get his job back.

Shall we FReep the employer who fired him?

He’ll probably lose a lawsuit if it is against company policy. What he needs is a groundswell of public support that threatens GM’s bottom line.

I have tweeted them that I won’t buy another GM vehicle ever again unless they fix this, I suggest others do the same.

Left out this from the middle of the article:

“GM officials, however, deny firing Sarder, saying in a statement, Because this is an ongoing investigation we cannot comment. However, we can say GM has not requested the valet be dismissed. To our knowledge the valet remains an employee of the vendor.”

Geez...again with the Institutional Mindset stupidity?? What is wrong with you people???

They just keep making it harder, if not impossible, for me to ever buy GM products again.

Dont buy GM cars.

Tell all your friends to never buy products from GM, which despises the USA.

I’m hoping (as I have seen in the past) some sympathetic business/company will have heard this story and offer this HERO a job.

As far as gm goes, I had purchased 5 gm vehicles in a row dating back to the 80s. When they got in bed with Obama.......that was all it took for me, I went import. Toyota and BMW. Never looked back.

Well I don’t buy new vehicles myself, I’m too much of a skinflint to pay for something that loses so much value right off the lot. But GM doesn’t need to know that ;)
