They already know its bulls*t. They MUST know and are now about just pulling chains. If they honestly do not understand then arguing with them is like debating your labrador retriever.
If you will put on your memory cap, the Democrats controlled the Senate when Rubio collaborated with the Democrats to betray America. If the Democrats/Rubio pushed this through with amnesty and citizenship, it would result in an overwhelming permanent Democrat voting majority and game-over for America as we know it.
None of the Gang of 8 were talking about this, only that the bill was an attempt to “bring people out of the shadows”. Of course, that could be done without granting citizenship and voting rights, so Ted proposed an amendment to grant amnesty, but never a path to citizenship in order to call their bluff and expose the lie to the American people. Again, remember that the Democrats controlled the Senate and that they could not be stopped without an uprising of the people. The Democrats/Rubio balked at Ted’s proposal and the true intent of the bill was laid bare for all to see.
I’m sure there are many things that Ted can be blamed for, but this??? Even vociferous Trump supporters should be thanking Ted for helping to save us when Trump was still cutting checks to Democrats.

If anyone thinks that suddenly 30 plus million people who are in the U.S. illegally are going to be deported, IMO they are whistling Dixie - and it doesn’t matter who is elected president.
What I see as a little more attainable to keep more from coming here, deny all taxpayer benefits to those that are here, severely punish employers who hire illegals, stop the issuance of all visas and green cards, deny admittance to anyone who attempts to cross our border and stop granting citizenship to those here.

Look at what they had to say about those immigration during their announcement speeches. These were subjects that Cruz cared very little about when he made his announcement speech, while Trump addressed them fully! Same thing with trade,2nd amendment & Terrorism. All Ted did was ask us to use our imagination and talked about CUBA....did not mention Canada, though.

I respectfully disagree. People come here because they’ve heard that free stuff is here and that any day now they’ll all get amnesty and citizenship.
If the rule is that you NEVER get citizenship if you’re here illegally, but can apply from outside, they’ll go.
I do agree that an effort to forcibly deport masses is unviable. We just need to make selfdeportation the smart thing for them to do.
Good comments. I have spent hours in long discussions with a couple of gals who attend my Bible study group and with a neighbor, all from Mexico. One of the husbands has a visa of some type, one has a green card and the other is here illegally. But all have employment, a loan on a new house, two new cars and their kids attend ESL classes in our public schools. All three disagree with me on what it means to be a citizen and all three say that they don’t want to be citizens, prefer to speak in their own language, watch TV programs in their own language and celebrate only Mexican holidays but think it’s “nice” that their husbands draw holiday pay if the have to work on any official American holidays.
True, this is only three and we have to be concerned about untold millions. I pray your opinion is correct - that they will leave if they can come back as citizens. These families will not.
