Trump gave the suburbs of DC to Rubio.

Virginia has more bigger & more diversity of GOP voters than Alaska. Trump still broke 1/3.

One of the factors that I’ve seen thrown around tonight regarding Trump’s losses in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska, is that all three states are big oil states which figures in Cruz’s favor. I don’t know how true this is, but it’s one theory.

Also saw someone make the point that Oklahoma and Texas were closed primaries, and the states in which Trump won were open. I’m not sure if that’s even factually correct or whether it’s relevant, but there might be some correlation.

Generally speaking, Trump seems to do better in primary states and worse in caucus states, with Nevada so far being the only caucus that he’s won.

You have a point on Texas but still look at the proportion of States that Trump has won East of the Mississippi vs. West of the Mississippi. There is something going on there.

It's called WISHFUL THINKING.

Delegate math tells the story:

Trump has 285 delegates, Cruz has 161, Rubio has 87, Kasich 25 and Carson 8.

Trump has an overwhelming lead and its going to be very difficult for the others to catch up to him now that Super Tuesday is over.

Its going to get even wider once states start awarding winner-take-all delegates after March 15.

Maybe he needs a Westerner and a Conservative as running mate to balance the ticket?

I can’t find a single Cruz supporter who will even attempt to tell me how Cruz gets the 1237 delegates to be nominated. So they are rooting for a brokered convention which is a victory for the GOPe and will maintain the status quo.

God bless Texas.

And thanks for Alaska Sarah Palin, your paid for endorsement of the Flim Flamm Man made your state a gift for Ted.

“A gift for Ted”?

You deluded oaf, Trump and Cruz essentially split Alaska’s delegates.

Just like teddy gifted Trump a whole bunch of Texas delegates because teddy was woefully unable to clear 50% + 1 in his own home state. Fail.

Re: “Now they are like drunks or drug addicts denying a problem exists.”

And yet another Cruz person looking down their nose on voters that had the nerve to not fall at the feet of Ted...

More like a concerned friend or relative attempting to prevent someone they care about from going over the edge, bringing many others with them in the process. Like taking the car keys away from a drunk friend or relative.

Exactly. Cruz supporters are like the fans of a losing football team in the final 2 minutes, the winning team is leading with a point ratio of approximately 3 to 1, and they think their heroic quarterback is going to somehow lob not one, but two or even three hail mary passes (all based on somehow retaining possession of the ball) and an extra point or field goal in the final 3 seconds to eke out a miraculous victory.

And Coach Glenn Beck is screaming from the sidelines, calling the winning team "Nazi's", "bullies", "ugly", throwing his teddy bear down, and foaming at the mouth.

God, you can't pay for this kind of entertainment.

I can understand how Trump lost Minnesota. It’s all those liberals who live in Minnesota along with the full support of that rag Star Tribune.

LOL, thanks for the morning laugh!

Sounds like you’re projecting those ‘weaknesses’ from your boy Cruz on to the winning candidate.

Consider this: Cruz won his home state of Texas with 44 percent of the vote. That isn’t as wonderful as you might think because it translates into *53* percent of the votes going AGAINST Cruz.

You want a weakness? There it is in spades.

Want more? In Oklahoma, Cruz won with 34 percent of the vote, equating to *66* percent of the vote going AGAINST him. That is weak son, weak.

Now if Cruz can only pull 44 percent of the vote in his home state, and 34 percent in his neighboring state, that doesn’t bode well if he WERE to be facing Hillary Clinton in the general election because there will be no other significant candidates in the mix and Cruz can’t be certain that the voters won’t break for Hillary. Take South Carolina, Cruz couldn’t even carry one county, but Hillary beat Bernie Sanders there like a red headed stepchild.

Tell us more about ‘regional candidates’ pal.

Looking ahead a bit, I wonder how the Muslim vote is going to affect the Nov general?

*******

//// I did some digging and found this from 2006:

"Did Muslim Vote In Virginia Swing Senate Control"

'The Detroit Free Press reports Muslims played a critical role in the November midterm elections.

Imam Mahdy Bray, Speaking at a Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America convention in Dearborn, highlighted the effective effort to turn out Muslim voters in Virginia:

The effort was so organized that Muslim taxi drivers in northern Virginia took the day off to ferry Muslims to the polls, said Imam Mahdy Bray, a speaker at the convention. Volunteers also made phone calls to Muslims in Virginia to urge them to vote, he said.

As a result, Democrat James Webb ousted incumbent Republican George Allen by about 9,000 votes in a race in which 50,000 Muslims went to the polls -- 47,000 of them voting for Webb, Bray said.rol?(Nov 2006)

*********

For my money Senator Allen gets all the credit for running a losing campaign. Nevertheless, if 96 percent of Muslims are going to vote Democratic, that would make them a more reliable Democratic constituency than African Americans. Democrats consistently receive about 90 percent of African American votes.
