Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China

Donald Trump Suits And Ties Are Made in China by Heather Long March 8, 2016 Donald Trump blasts companies like Ford and Apple for manufacturing products outside the United States. He even threatened to stop eating Oreo cookies after he learned some production was moving to Mexico. But Trump does the same thing.

Many of his products are made outside the United States. Most Donald J. Trump ties are made in China. Some Donald J. Trump suits are also made in China.

Donald J. Trump signature men's dress shirts are made in China, Bangladesh or "imported," meaning they were made abroad.

And it's not just Donald's products. Harvard professor and trade expert Robert Lawrence analyzed over 800 items in the Ivanka Trump fashion line. There are shoes, dresses, purses and scarves. All are "imported."

The top five countries that America imports clothing from are China (by far the leader), India, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mexico. Related: Trump tower's Chinese investors buy a path to U.S. citizenship

"In a recent debate Marco Rubio mentioned ties. But the ties made in China are just the tip of the iceberg," says Lawrence, who served on President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.

Lawrence found that none of Ivanka Trump's clothing line appears to be made exclusively in the United States and 354 items are listed as made in China. Trump doesn't dispute this.

"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open. I say my ties many times are made in China," Trump told CNN's Jake Tapper in July.

"It's very hard to have apparel made in this country," Trump said.

I think Trump is making the point that we need different rules so that US companies can compete with China. US companies agree!

“”It’s very hard to have apparel made in this country,” Trump said.
This is the ultimate con man and snake-oil salesman”

he describes the problem very well...he wants to fix that problem. It isn’t even an issue with your guy...he is fine with stupid trade. Donald Trump will fix the stupid trade we have been suffering under. When Cruz and the establishment lie, they are lying to you...not to Trump...he isn’t their target for their lies, you are.

Ted Cruz's money comes from the Bush family.

I guess we'll be looking into where Trump's iphone and laptop were made, too. Oh, and don't forget to look into the part numbers of his stretch limo. Maybe there's a fuel injector from Mexico.

Trump is talking about making it so that those things are made in the US in the future. No one else in the race is talking about that.

Another stupid article. Good job, Steelfish!

He's right. And so he should start his own factory?

It's about quality.

I buy a lot of things made in Pakistan, Egypt....It's the fabric...the cotton. My 800 thread Egyptian cotton sheets are sooooo wonderful.

It is very hard to find clothes made here. I have started looking at labels. Most say China, and other countries.

trump has already said they were made in China. This is old news - he lends his name to them. However, his hats and t-shirts for his campaign are Made in the USA. He is leading by example.

Your comparisons make no sense. Trump had full control over where his products are made, not so with fuel injectors. Maybe there are lots of lots of Trumpkins who yielded to the demand of a sworn pledge to support their “Dear Leader” and now can’t afford to break their oath or else face a hail of bullets in the middle of Fifth Avenue

The point of the article was not that he wears suits made in China....

The point is, the suits he manufactures, with his name on them, are made in china.

This is the guy who says he wants to ‘bring business back to America’.

Ted Cruz was the Director of the Office of Policy Planning under Bush, maybe you should ask Ted why the policies Bush allowed Congress to enact and put in place himself made it nearly impossible for clothing manufactures in the US to compete with cheap Chinese slave labor.

That "principled Conservative" who helped plan the very policies now destroying this country should have an answer and if not, he can just ask the new Bush family member working with his financial team to ask GWB, right ?
