Time for GOP Establishment (and Trump Supporters) to Unite Behind Ted Cruz

Dear Jim and Freepers:

I am deleting Free Republic from my computer. Free Republic was an Oasis for conservatives to share their views and thoughts in a rational, respectful and thoughtful way. I enjoyed the exchange of ideas and perspectives.

Very sadly, it has turned into a place for irrational ravings, slogans, mob mentality and cheap plagiarism. I’m not putting all into those categories as there are some fine folks here, but as evidenced by the Trumpbots taking over threads, what used to be a wonderful forum for ideas and thought has turned into a sad parody of itself.

I know, don’t let the door hit you in the ass, but I won’t be here to respond.

Regards to those with brains left here.

“Jumping the Shark” is not what happened here ... Palin has accurately painted the target... time for you to leave as you said you were 2 weeks ago. Palin may not be your ideal rep of “we the people” but she’s fine by me.

There is no ideal representation of “we the People’’. We are ALL the sum total of all the decisions we’ve made throughout our lives, each with his/her faults and attributes. In other words, we are all uniquely different, and valuable.

Some simply are willing to put themselves out there and speak, many agree, some disagree, some agree in part, some disagree in part, but ideally, all of our voices need to be heard, because we ALL count.

As far as I’m concerned, anybody who wants to take their toys and run home is privileged to do so. That’s the beauty of the internet and forums. You can say what you will, or you can shut up. You can log in and visit, you can log out and do something else. No biggie. Go where ever you feel comfortable, or enjoy or whatever. Nobody breaks your arm to go anywhere.

Chances are, most of us who’ve been online for a while have places we used to go, places that changed it’s tone and we no longer cared to be there for whatever reasons. Others fill in the void and life goes on.

Has FR changed? I dunno. I know that *I* have! Years ago when I used to read here, my jaw would drop and my eyes fly open with surprise due to the boldness of folks here. That’s what attracted me.

It doesn’t seem so bold and shocking anymore so I dunno if things changed here, or if *I* changed and got used to it. The fact is, I lived in a very conservative, politically correct area and had become accustomed to zipping my own lip, so when I found FR and people were actually open about their thoughts and ideas, I fell in love. Felt like I was in America once again.

That’s why I like Trump. He reminds me of how FR was when I first got here, and I like that.

And the nice thing was, this place wasn’t just words. People actually DID stuff...letters, Freepmail, protests..which helped to motivate ME.

Trump is like that. He motivates people. He motivates people to do the RIGHT stuff, AMERICAN stuff, not commie stuff.

What I hear when people threaten to take their toys and go home, is that they are angry that they can’t manipulate others, AND they don’t know what America once ‘tasted’ like.

Am I right or am I wrong? Does it matter??? Nope. It’s MY thoughts and ideas, and I’m glad for the opportunity to speak (write) it.

I might get hung for it later should the liberal JBT’s have their way, but for now I’ll keep William Wallace’s shout of “FREEDOM!” (Braveheart) on my mind and I will trudge on.

That’s all I have to say about that.
