Utah GOP plots to save Mia Love from Trump backlash
politico.com ^ | 03/24/16 | Theodoric Meyer

Rep. Mia Love was a rising star two years ago when she became the first black Republican woman ever elected to Congress — as well as a symbol of the more diverse, inclusive party that GOP leaders said they needed to build.

(SNIP)

He lost to Love by just more than 4,000 votes in 2014, picking up a significant number of crossover votes, even though many Democrats had written off the conservative district after longtime Rep. Jim Matheson retired.

She's going to lose it anyway and guaranteed that by siding with Boehner.

Mia Love came BEGGING to Constitutional Conservatives when she did not get the support she needed from establishment Republicans. Sold the story of her parents working so hard to send he to college framing her life as a principled conservative.

Another one of those phonies who backstabbed us before she even unpacked in DC. Do you believe it, she even sent out email campaign solicitations to conservatives who sent her a few dollars last campaign? WHAT NERVE.

And they all need to be shown the door just as their predecessors were.

I swear, sometimes we'd be better off just picking our representatives by lottery or something.

It has been true since the original founders died off that every legislator, governor and president would be better sourced by a lottery from working, property owning Americans.

I first argued this proposition in 8th grade debate class in 1960.

You mean turn congressional service into jury duty?

Provided that the property level is significant enough but not too high, and the number of hours worked is also defined in a way that is difficult to game, this is probably as good an idea as any other.

The problem with any non-hereditary system is that often those who would be the best rulers are reluctant to rule and are difficult to identify and compel, while it is difficult to impede all those who want to rule for some reason other than truly having the ability and a desire to do what is truly best.

There is no perfect system in this world, and as Churchill said, “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the rest.

“Because I believe we need a president with less bravado and more real courage to act on conservative principles, I will be casting my vote Tuesday for Ted Cruz,” Love said in a statement ahead of the caucuses.”

This is mealy-mouthed bullshiite that would disqualify such a jerk from ever getting my vote. Love is the one revealing outright cowardice here. She is like all of the other Cruzers and Trump-haters who lie about their true motives and beliefs, yet have the gall to try to put their own cowardice on Trump. The fact is they are worried that Trump will, indeed, act on his conservative principles (such as build a wall, stop Moslem immigration, dump unequal trade arrangements, stop the neo-con endless wars, among other things) but they don’t have the courage to say this directly. So they repeat the nonsense about Trump’s “bravado” (and “tone” and “bombast”, etc.) as if his aggressiveness is a character flaw, even though aggressiveness is what we need from a leader to follow through on his agenda. I’ve had it with these confused, stupid, and silly people that the RINO wing of the Uniparty has inflicted on us all.

Why, Because she didn’t endorse der Fuher? what kind of police state are the Trumpomaniacs running? By the way the Tea Party endorsed Cruz, too. So you’ll let the dems have her seat.

Good grief, that's a lot of rambling and non-relevant spew.

WTH does Trump have to do with this? Oh, that's right...he doesn't. Some people are just so obsessed with him that he manages to live rent-free in their heads 24/7

Now if you'd actually bothered ASKING ME, I would have simply said it was for her support of Boehner.

Love sidled up to the GOPe long before the election campaigns started.

I was sad to see that. Has nothing to do with Trump.

And could we please dispense with the Nazi crap?

“There will be a time and a place for me to stand as a lone voice of dissension, but the vote for the speaker, is not that place,” Love said. “For me to be an effective congressman over the next two years it is important for me to be on the side of the elected speaker.”

This primary season is outstanding—everybody takes off the mask and shows who they are.

That includes the “rising stars”. In the heat of battle we get to find out whether they have real courage or just talk a good game or have good script writers.

She’s a RINO and one of the 95 percent non-conservatives in the GOP.

Her cover as a ‘conservative’ is blown.

She is ultimately loyal to leadership.

I agree 100%. People who want elected office should generally be kept the hell away from them.

The bottom line is that the RNC has tainted this whole process. If Trump or Cruz win the election in November it will be an uphill battle to fight both The REPUBLICRATS and DEMICANS... Sound off to the RNC and tell them no more money for them until they wake up.
