Cruz will not sue National Enquirer for the same reason countless celebrities who get smeared do not — it’s the National Enquirer. Why waste time with a publication no one takes seriously?

More clearly, the decision goes something like this: "It can’t look like we’re covering a story about a politician who’s allegedly been serially cheating on his wife, so let’s change the narrative to a story about a politician who accuses another politician of making up a story about him cheating on his wife." Problem solved? No!

Two issues here. One, the story is not stagnant. It’s organic – evolving and changing – and journalists look stupid when they’re forced to ignore developments that millions of people on social media outlets have been discussing for hours. The essence of the story is ignored, as are all developments and subsequent conversations among millions of people. It’s what happens when you put coverage of the reaction, before the action.

Exactly. The MSM wants to cover the cat fight, but not look into the background.

Story broke Thurs night and this is Monday afternoon.

Still no smoking gun. If this story doesn’t get real legs soon, it’s dead.

Nobody wants to touch it because innuendo and rumors isn’t real news.

Even so. I’m a Cruz supporter. Even if true, does the story give me pause? Any other year, absolutely. But what am I going to do this year? Change my support to a guy who left two wives via adultery? Or to a communist who is in a long term relationship with a woman? Or Bernie Sanders?

If politics is a cesspool then all the other candidates wear this stink.

In the meantime, I will continue to give no quarter to innuendo and rumor made for political effect. Those pushing this story should prove it, or go away.

The media is holding off on the story until after Wisconsin. If Cruz can win Wisconsin, Trump might have trouble getting his delegates, and the Dems and GOPe can work their magic at a contested convention.

Remember when Cruz lied and said he didn’t want a convention fight? Fun times.
