With our modern technology and our better understanding of the human body and chemistry, it seems like we could design a perfect pain medication. Or at least a better one that doesn't harm the body or cause addiction. Or maybe an alternate treatment such as blocking the pain.

I realize that this is a tall order but if some pharma developed such a drug or treatment, there would be a huge demand for it.
