Free Republic DNS entry seems to be gone

I was surfing FR this afternoon and suddenly was unable to access any page on FR and the error stated the server could not be found.

I located the IP address, 209.157.64.200, of the server and then added an entry into my PC's host file and I can now see FR again.

I still do not see a DNS entry for FR, and that is interesting.

I hope FR hasn't been suddenly removed from the root DNS servers.

Same thing happening to me. Fine on the iPad, can’t find the server on the iPhone.

Same thing on my PC, but I can get it on my cell phone. I also updated my hosts file to get it working on my PC.

I am at work and the site was suddenly blocked. I switched to another proxy (pc that filters us from “bad” sites) and it worked. Something changed.

Check the republican party. Maybe they hired hackers to stop people at the site from wanting to elect Trump or Cruz.......

PC was a problem, but not my phone. I waited(patiently) for about 15 minutes and all was back to normal.

Works fine with me. I did have problems Saturday morning with Trumps website. Same thing. No DNS resolution.

My eventual solution was to upgrade chrome (it had a pending upgrade).

If you put www.freerepublic.com into the address bar, it works

Without the www. it no longer finds the site (it used to be that you did not need www)

Looks like the DNS record was updated today, and the following nameservers are setup:

NS.ROBINSON-DEFEHR.COM
and NS2.ROBINSON-DEFEHR.COM

ROBINSON-DEFEHR.COM does not exist, so this could be PART of the problem, it could also be a typo and NS.ROBINSON-DEFEHR.COM maybe should read:
NS1.ROBINSON-DEFEHR.COM

Well, clarification - dumped about an hour ago from my work PC, right in the middle of a thread. Working now from home on my Mac, but not from my work computer PC still. Using Chrome on both.
