Action Alert: Arizona GOP State Convention April 30th – Trump Supporters Needed…
The Last Refuge ^ | 4/23/16 | sundance

Posted on 04/23/2016 3:24:22 PM PDT by Mechanicos

(ARIZONA Op-Ed) If you are in Arizona, mark April 30th on your calendar and plan to attend because Arizona GOP elite says Trump voters don’t matter.

This is why the Arizona Cruz supporters and the GOP establishment elite have entered into an unholy alliance to “stack the deck to steal the national delegates” from Mr. Trump at the Arizona GOP State Convention scheduled for April 30 in Mesa.

A delegation of 1,251 state delegates elected from 40 Arizona Legislative and County Caucuses will descend on Mesa on April 30. Unfortunately, many of these state delegates are Cruz supporters led by Constantin Querard and “anyone but Trump” supporters led by Robert Graham and the RINO establishment.

Jeff DeWit, Arizona’s Treasurer and Mr. Trump’s Campaign Chairman, and the Trump supporters have been extremely vocal and visibly upset with the party bosses sleazy Gestapo tactics and dirty tricks. That’s why an online petition has been started demanding Robert Graham, the Arizona GOP Chairman, immediately resign. If you are a Trump supporter, then please sign the petition.

If you are a Trump supporter and outraged the AZGOP elite says your vote doesn’t matter; then I encourage you to attend the AZGOP State Convention on April 30th at the Mesa Convention Center, 263 N. Center St., Mesa, starting at 8 a.m., to protest and have your voices heard.

Together we can “Make America Great Again”!

According to the Arizona Secretary of State Official Data – On March 22nd, 286,743 Arizona voters cast their ballots for Donald Trump to be the Republican Party presidential nominee. Ted Cruz got 172,294 votes – fewer votes than Bernie Sanders – in a state that is supposed to be conservative.

Do they know how many of the 1,251 delegates are Trump always supporters? As I read it, the 1251 delegates are broken down into nine congressional districts, where three delegates are chosen from each district.

Are you saying •anyone• can attend? What are the requirements, since you posted this on a major, countrywide forum?

Hurray! Trump is finally starting to understand the rules of the process. Hopefully he can work to get his supporters in place to vote to keep rule 40b on the National Rules Committee.

At our district meeting, 31 of the 41 delegates were Trump supporters and and I heard that all of the alternates were for Trump. Delegates were elected by the precinct captains.

You are correct. There is a slate of candidates to be delegates to the National Convention signed, sealed and delivered.

The delegates to the State convention were elected April 9th. Application to be on the slate of candidates to the National convention had to be in by April 10th. That slate is full of GOPe stalwarts.

Those delegates to the State convention can only vote on April 30th for the Delegates to the National convention.

Lots of newbie Trump supporters flooded the April 9 meetings. But the need to apply by the next day was never announced to the attendees in my experience.

Lots of ways to dis-enfranchise the voters

More info. here-

http://arizonagop.org/how-to-become-a-delegate-to-the-2016-state-or-national-conventions/

I’m from AZ., and I will go to keep an eye on the process. I had received an e-mail from the Trump camp, seeking delegates for the State Convention, after first helping Team Trump, at their AZ. State HQ’s., in a GOTV phone campaign.

I am leaving the state for the summer and fall, so the commitment to be a delegate was a deal killer for me. I’m new to AZ. politics, but not new to politics elsewhere, so my rationale was to let the local stalwarts go for it, as they have been slugging it out in the trenches long before I got here.

Anybody else from AZ. going to the State Convention?

Personally, seeing how I’m from AZ., and plan on attending- I’ll observe the process, and then report back here to people that are interested in the Convention’s results.

YOU on the other hand, being the belligerent that you are, might be gone (just guessing) because you rode the lightning.

Arizona’s Candidates for Delegate to Republican National Convention

This is a provisional list of submitted names. All names will be verified solely for Republican voter registration status and legal residence eligibility before being placed on the ballot. If you are on this list and a correction is needed please contact us before FRIDAY, APRIL 15th at will.smith@azgop.org. If your name is marked “rejected” please contact us with the corrected information immediately. The designation “checked” in the congressional district and at-large column column means you checked the box for that selection and will be on that ballot, and if you checked both boxes you will be on both ballots. All duplicates will be removed before the ballot is printed.

Here’s the list of names which is too large to list in the body of this post.

http://arizonagop.org/arizonas-candidates-for-delegate-to-republican-national-convention/

IMPORTANT:

Once elected, delegates and alternates will pay the full cost of their attendance at the Republican National Convention, an amount expected to be approximately $4,000 per person, including airfare and hotel. All the presidential campaigns have asked us to inform delegates that they must pay these costs themselves.

An initial payment of $1,000 must be made by each delegate and alternate immediately after the election on April 30th. This is consistent with prior practices in 2008 and 2012, and the funds will be used to offset part of the costs of the delegation activity in Cleveland, including meals, entertainment, receptions and other activities.

At the Republican National Convention delegates vote openly. There are no secret ballots and you can expect all your voting activity to be subject to public observation. Your name will be published on the AZGOP.org website. You can expect to be contacted by media, candidate campaigns, or others interested in contacting you about your participation and how you intend to vote.

Please remember that you have offered to serve the Republican voters from your party, and please keep in mind the wishes of your constituents who selected you as their delegate to National Convention.

State law requires the delegates to cast their vote for the winner of the March 22nd election in the first round, in this case Donald Trump, and all delegates and alternates will be required to pledge to uphold this requirement.

There are a few Trump supporters who are starting to understand the process. The Ron Paul folks were the same way until they actually read the rules.

THIS is the original source for the article.

http://azcapitoltimes.com/news/2016/04/21/arizona-gop-elite-says-trump-voters-dont-matter/

And THIS is the petition site.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/demand-azgop-chair-robert-grahams-resignation

These are some of the allegations.

AZGOP Graham has shown over and over he’s above the law and has no moral or ethical compass. He violates State Statutes, the State Bylaws, Robert’s Rules of Order, snubs County party Chairmen and disenfranchises precinct committeemen. He has extorted fees from state delegates to the state Republican Convention. He demands $1000 donation to AZGOP or he will deny seating delegates to the National Republican Convention because he is incapable of raising money for the party, thereby denying some of the hardest workers in the AZ Republican party the ability to be delegates. These are the people who stuff envelopes, knock on doors, make phone calls and recruit new precinct committeemen to grow the party.

Personally- I did not sign the petition because the allegations are unsubstantiated. Whoever put the petition together didn’t do their homework IMHO, and the thing is worth diddly squat. I’m a Trump voter and supporter, so I’m going to the Convention to see what’s up, sporting my Trump T-shirt.

Voter apathy in America has been rampant for some time. That people are starting to pay attention and vote is good, that they are becoming educated about the pernicious and convoluted delegate process is even better.

Pennsylvania’s delegates appear on the ballot, unidentified as to which candidate they are loyal to, yet across the ballot sheet on the other side- appears the candidates. Would it be too much trouble to link the two together? And why do you suppose the layout is set up that way?

Both major political parties have established rules that favor the rule makers, INSTEAD of the voters.

The OUTRAGE isn’t that one candidate knew the rules and took advantage of them, while another candidate didn’t, the OUTRAGE is that the voters do not know the rules or the process, and that it is confusing, and intentionally so (in some cases) by design.

Trump’s whining is a well thought out tactic that is opening the eyes of the voters, which NEED to be opened.

Jeff DeWitt, Gov Brewer, Sheriff Arpaio are not establishment despite their dominance of Arizona politics?

But Some nobody Querad is the establishment?

Just trying to understand AZ.

Its like NY. Guiliani and Peter King and establishment types supporting Trump are not establishment. But nobodies supporting Cruz (or Kasich) were establishment.

And Cruz campaign boss got Gerry Ford the back room deal to beat Reagan. So he is now establishment?
