A Gallup poll [1]released on Friday shows that the number of Americans who identify as environmentalists has dropped 36 points, from 78 percent in 1991 to 42 percent in 2016. There has also been a decline in Americans expressing concern about environmental problems, such as pollution.

The Earth Day poll [1] is conducted annually by Gallup. The polling firm cites the politicization of environmental issues as one possible reason for the decline, highlighting the growing partisan gap in those who identify as environmentalists.

A large percentage of Americans (Republicans and Democrats) – 78 percent – considered themselves environmentalists in 1991. That number today is 42 percent.

Also, only 27 percent of Republicans identify as environmentalists, compared with 56 percent of Democrats, a partisan gap of 29 percentage points.

Hmmmm. It's a poll so........... Anyway, it's not that we don't care about the environment, it's that we're tired of taking blame/credit for whatever happens NATURALLY. Hello. Yes we should be good stewards of it but we should also use the resources provided. Somebody may get a visit from the Climate Denial Policing Unit.

In almost all of the major environmental clean-ups, like San Francisco Bay, were lead by Republicans.

At one time you could get broad agreement across the political spectrum on things like “it should not be dark in Pittsburgh at noontime” and “we really should not flush raw sewage from five cities into Lake Erie”.

On Global Warming? Not so much.

You don’t suppose all those unfulfilled predictions have taken their toll on the “chicken littles” of the world.

Hmmmmm. Let’s see.....1991-2016. Is it possible that people, having more instant access to information, have discovered that someone has been putting a sheep over their heads?

Well, if the sheep are offended, we can always send them to some moose-limb country where they would be appreciated.

"Gallup: Americans Who Identify as 'Environmentalists' Down 36 Points Since 1991"

How can this be. All of those newly imported undocumented democrats must surely care more about the environment than they do for their own lives.
