"A 'twisted ideology' drove an Israeli soldier to fatally shoot a Palestinian assailant in the head as he lay subdued in the road," the US news site Vice claims, based on a classified IDF report on the recent incident.
"A few seconds before the attack, few seconds before the attack, as came up in the investigation with Sergeant M, (Azariya) told him that 'a terrorist that wounded their friend needs to die," the site reported, adding that "Sergeant M tried to calm the soldier down telling him, 'Relax, our wounded friend will be just fine.'"
Despite this, Azariya still shot the terrorist in the head. Later, he told his commander that "He's a terrorist, he needs to die."
Vice claims Azariya gave different explanations to different people, telling the investigators that he feared the terrorist had a bomb.
"The facts speak for themselves," said one investigator. "The company medic took the decision to shoot the terrorist due to a twisted ideology."
Another criticized the failure to provide the terrorist with medical treatment. "We need to address the subject of treating terrorists after they get neutralized immediately," he wrote. "We need to increase our moral attention to it and we need to demand our soldiers do exactly what we expect them to do in such events."
The concerns also took into account the incident's effect on the IDF's image. "Incidents such as these harm the strength and power of the IDF and leave a stain on our daily activities," said another.

“Vice claims Azariya gave different explanations to different people, telling the investigators that he feared the terrorist had a bomb.”
The two are not mutually exclusive.
Considering Terrorist’s are responsible for soldiers getting PTSD, claiming PTSD is a valid universal defense.
I’m confused; an Isreali soldier killed a terrorist. What’s the problem? (jk, sort of)
He allegedly told his sergeant that he didn’t like terrorists and thought they should die.
One of these days the savage murder Moslem gangs in Israel will get all of one day the Moslem murder terror gangsters will get them all removed to their own countries - or sent straight to allah in Hell Its a miracle the Israelis have been so amazingly restrained in the face of such satanic, bloody provocations for so long.
See terrorist, shoot terrorist. Then shoot terrorist parents and siblings. Soon, no terrorists.
Isn't that what liberals are telling the government about white Christians?
Should pin a medal on him.
Sounds like a promotion and medal are in order.
OK, and the problem is, what?
Israel has far too many liberals as well. Israel is fighting to retain sanity just like we are.
He had his mind right IMHO. Killing the rabid beasts with kindness is not an option!
” Israel is fighting to retain sanity just like we are.”
Americans at least have an excuse. You live thousands of miles from everything, watching it all happen on TV, which is filtered through the supposedly objective MSM, which of course is totally unmoved by the makeup of its stockholders and board of directors, let alone the ideological prejudices of its “journalists”.
We are right here, where it’s all happening. We have no excuse for this insanity.
I’ve been a Buddhist and vegetarian for 45 years. I do not take killing lightly. But when it needs to be done, I do it without malice. Critters sometimes get killed, it’s the way of things.
State of Mu, eh? If you see the wounded terrorist with a bulky coat, kill the terrorist.
The world is upside down. Imprison and kill our defenders, coddle and cherish our destroyers. The only thing this soldier did wrong was he failed to shoot the goat shagger enough times in the first place.
