KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican police said Monday they are trying to determine the motive in the weekend slayings of two American missionaries in the north coast area where they lived and worked.
A team of officers is interviewing residents of St. Mary parish in northern Jamaica where the bodies of Randy Hentzel, 48, and Harold Nichols, 53, were found in bushes along a rural road where they were traveling on motorbikes.

Very sad. Jamaica is very hostile territory once you venture outside of the cruise ship zone, and in fact, more and more visitors don’t even leave the ship. This applies mostly to whites, but even black Americans have had problems with the local population.
That reminds me of the song “Safe European Home” by the Clash regarding Jamaica:
“I went to the place where every white face is an invitation to robbery.
And sitting here in my safe European home, I don’t want to go back there again.”
I spent 6 months in Jamaica as a guest of the government.....

Outside of the 5 ruling families, most are incredibly poor... some very good people but there are the unbelievably dangerous ones....I’ve been through the slums of Kingston by myself, visited the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre.....
Robbery is the most likely cause...
