thousands of eagle deaths at wind farms Published May 04, 2016 Associated Press Facebook45 Twitter59 livefyre Email Print This file photo shows a Colorado wind farm. (AP) This file photo shows a Colorado wind farm. (AP) The Obama administration is revising a federal rule that allows wind-energy companies to operate high-speed turbines for up to 30 years, even if means killing or injuring thousands of federally protected bald and golden eagles.

Under the plan announced Wednesday, companies could kill or injure up to 4,200 bald eagles a year without penalty -- nearly four times the current limit. Golden eagles could only be killed if companies take steps to minimize the losses, for instance, by retrofitting power poles to reduce the risk of electrocution.

Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe said the proposal will "provide a path forward" for maintaining eagle populations while also spurring development of a pollution-free energy source that's intended to ease global warming, a cornerstone of President Barack Obama's energy plan.

Ashe said the 162-page proposal would protect eagles and at the same time "help the country reduce its reliance on fossil fuels" such as coal and oil that contribute to global warming.

Yet it’s still a crime for an average citizen to just pick up an eagle feather.

If only Edgar Allan Poe were alive today...he could create a cool story about Odungo being lowered closer and closer to windmill blades. Give it that good ol’ ecological twist, you know.

“So where are the environmentalists on this?” asked Mrs. RQSR. I guess it’s a question of if they want to kill the birds, or get rid of coal, and getting rid of the coal wins. The birds are just collateral damage to the environmentalists whom make up the largest monetary influence of the Democrat party.

And 100s of thousands of illegals are littering and spoiling desert national parks on the southern border and this administration just gives it a pass.

So much for Democrats being the party of wildlife preservation.

Yep, the enviro nazis are now fine with the killing of millions of birds in the name of globull warming and those numbers will increase drastically with the increase in wind farms.

The environmentalists and the media are waiting until 12:01 pm on January 20, 2017 to go completely insane over the slaughter of birds by the Republican President and his Big Energy buddies.

Windmills have become a symbol of environmentalism. Doesn’t matter if they kill birds. In fact, they want them placed in the ocean. That way, no one will know about the millions of birds that they kill.
