America’s middle class is headed toward extinction

In cities across America, the middle class is hollowing out.

A widening wealth gap is moving more households into either higher- or lower-income groups in major metro areas, with fewer remaining in the middle, according to a report released Wednesday by the Pew Research Center.

In nearly one-quarter of metro areas, middle-class adults no longer make up a majority, the Pew analysis found. That’s up from fewer than 10 percent of metro areas in 2000.

Pew defines the middle class as households with incomes between two-thirds of median income and twice the median, adjusted for household size and the local cost of living. The median is midway between richest and poorest. By Pew’s definition, a three-person household was middle class in 2014 if its annual income fell between $42,000 and $125,000.

Middle-class adults now make up l

Our totally unbacked, printed money, controlled by the central planners at the Federal Reserve, is the absolute cause.

Why? Because fake printed money and fake interest rates always benefit the first handlers of money, large asset holders, and above all, the government.

We have created, whether on purpose or by mistake, a reverse wealth machine - where the labor, wages and savings of the average American are steadily and silently sucked off by government and its approved cronies in finance and elsewhere.

Middle class = people who work at a job for their income, who are not on welfare, and who are not filthy rich.

Jobs sent overseas. Taxes raised on the middle class. Millions of non-workers pouring into the country, paid for by the middle class.

The middle class is the one that’s neglected by politicians. They love the filthy rich for their money. They love the non-productive slackers for their votes. They don’t care about the middle class.

It’s intentional.

Independent people who provide for themselves and who don’t look to the government for handouts to survive are difficult to control.

The definition of middle class is somewhat arbitrary, so alarmism really isn't warranted.

It's really clear when you consider the outcome:

Nationally, the proportion of middle-class adults shrank to 51 percent in 2014 from 55 percent in 2000, Pew found. Upper-income adults now constitute 20 percent of the population, up from 17 percent. The lower-income share has risen to 29 percent from 28 percent.

The percentage of "middle class" adults decreased by 4%.
The percentage of "upper income" adults increased by 3%.
The percentage of "lower income" adults increased by 1%.

In other words, 3 times as many people moved from middle class to "upper income", as those that moved from middle class to "lower income".

That would appear to be a positive trend, overall.

This is what happens when you undercut skilled labor with HB-1 visas and illegal immigration that holds down wages for the lower half of the population.

“Our totally unbacked, printed money, controlled by the central planners at the Federal Reserve, is the absolute cause.”

Why isn’t the Congress, who approves these never ending budget deficits, the ‘absolute cause’? If the Feds balanced the budget (or close to it), there would be no need to print, correct?

The Congress didn’t have to listen to Henry Paulson’s BS in 2008 about the need to bail out the banks, foreign and domestic, did they?

The Federal Reserve is not an independent entity. Hasn’t been since the Martin days (with the possible exception of Volker). They take their marching orders from the Treasury, and the Treasury takes it’s direction from the President.

The President should be subject to the Constitution, and thereby the Congress and We the People.

The blame lies squarely with the Congress.

Lots of middle-class people are Democrat. They are attracted to Mrs. Bill’s claim, “Working for you”.

The looting of America continues. The gap between the lower wage earners and the high end earners is widening. The only sectors that are doing well are government, gibmedats, and financial/banking. The rest of us have to deal with dwindling resources, rampant inflation, and competition from offshore communist socialist slavedrivers.

Sure is. The globalist model is to have a small elite, with unbound and ever increasing power, physical possessions, and wealth. A protective layer of self-sufficient folks will be public employees, dependent on the elite for their jobs and well being. The public employee class provides a barrier separating the elite from the others.

A select few will be chosen to "move on up". They will be chosen for skills they provide, how easily they can be controlled, and to remove their leadership potential from leading the rest of us.

Someone "explained" it to me, in 1970 (or so) when I was involved in bridge groups and other stuff like that, surrounded by those who appreciated the scheme of things. Never much cared for the concept myself, with a mom from "the wrong side of the tracks" who had a lot more going for them than those with their noses in the air ever appreciated.

Yeah, getting that typed out, now I know why I'm so passionate about this election.
