Japan still has not apologized to China or Taiwan for enslaving comfort women.

Japan claims that the comfort women willingly gave their services to its military.

Obama being apparently a fudge packer himself, this find point probably escapes his moral reckoning.

Japan should have had 10 nukes dropped on it as payback for the Rape Of Nanking alone. Just one of many atrocities they willingly did and enjoyed.

Chinese State Media: “atomic bombings of Japan were of its own making”

China hasn’t forgiven the Rape of Nanking.

What’s sad is we have to go to China State Media to find reasonable balance.

Read what I posted. I said it was an arguable position, and not mine.

Pearl Harbor was an attack on a military facility. That started a war, and they got everything coming to them -- maybe not even enough. But it was an attack on a military target.

What they did in China were war crimes. Millions of civilians were deliberately targeted. The Chinese and Koreans were tortured, murdered, and enslaved.

What they did to our guys during Bataan was also a crime against civilization outside of even the boundaries of war; what happened to those men, even those who survived the Death March, was far worse than Pearl Harbor.

We bombed their military industrial facilities and there were casualties.

All of which, by the way, was within the acceptable limits of warfare -- both then and now. Bataan was not. Manchuria was not. Korea was not.

0bama is an ignoramus apparently unaware of either the firebombing of Dresden or Tokyo, both of which killed more people than the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nor is he apparently aware of the War Department estimate that a conventional invasion of the Japanese Home Islands would have resulted in a million US casualties, and many times that many Japanese.

We shouldn't be apologizing or talking about "moral evolution" nor the implied moral equivalence of Japanese war crimes with the lawful destruction caused by warfare that his silly -- and malicious -- misunderstanding of history requires.

He is a fool and an embarrassment, and Hillary Clinton is more of the same, with an added tincture of sleaze and corruption.

Or the Bataan Death March. Or the slaughter of Manila. Or the Rape of Nanking? Or any of a number of Japanese war crimes?

It would be more devastating to ask 0bama if he ever talks about Japan's depredations in Manchuria, or if the Japanese have "morally evolved" since Bataan.

...and the atrocities committed by Japan in Nanking China.

Actually, the Pearl Harbor (and Phillipines) attacks were war crimes, aggressive violations of the peace without warning or declaration of war.

[Wikipedia]"War crimes also included deliberate attacks on citizens and property of neutral states as they fall under the category of non-combatants, as at the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the attack on Pearl Harbor happened without a declaration of war, without explicit warning, and went out of proportion, all military and civilian casualties at the harbor were officially non-combatants, the military were not ready for face up to the attack and the attack was declared by the Tokyo Trials to go beyond justification of military necessity and therefore constituted a war crime"

Thanks for your patriotism.

Todays youth deserve to know the foundation upon which our country was built including the horror of war.

Sure they may know 9/11 as some guy flew a plane into a building, but they equate war with drones & restraint fought on foreign soils.

They probably don’t understand that the first war fought on US soil gave them the freedom they enjoy today, and the second freed slaves by a Republican President.

They also don’t realize that many of them are generationally tied to true immigrants, who fled their European and other homes to escape true horror brought on by wars that had no regard for PC talk, or civilian life.

The Dems and their academic ilk have reshaped history, or distorted it so much that its like a fiction now only to be used for political shame when votes are needed.

Yes but then that would have just given the pacifists of the future all the more ammo to condemn the US with. The leaders in FDR’s Truman’s and Churchill’s time were well acquainted with pacifists of their era and could anticipate (redacted) like Obama eventually being able to come to power and to use the power of high office to cast doubt upon the decision to drop the first two bombs.

I would wonder if after a few more years Japan would come to its senses and reconcile its collective national conscience more fully with its sordid past, as (for example) Germany appears to have done.

Or the Bataan Death march, or the murder of several million Filipinos, or a number of other offensive (vs. defensive like our attacks) atrocities????

We would have been morally OK if we had exterminated them all.

The dullard Obama probably learned everything he knows about Pearl Harbor from Animal House.
