I have been to the Hiroshima “Peace” memorial. The exhibits are all presented like, one fine, sunny August morning, the USAAF unleashed this terrible weapon upon us and what you see is the results of that terrible day. Since then we, the Japanese people are for nuclear disarmament and we are pacifists.
There is no mention of WHAT actually led up to this cataclysmic event. No mention of Imperial Japan's conquests and blood thirst. There is no mention of events that led up to the dropping of the bomb.
At least the Krauts have tried to do some soul searching, the Japanese...nada...

I tried to explain to my Brother who was stationed in Japan for many years that they [the Japs] when he would effuse about their Kindness, politeness, Friendliness, etc. were that way because we forced them by the sword to forsake the national militaristic tendencies of their society and if not for us they would still be a major problem in the East. You would think someone with 20 plus years in the military would “get it”.
