Years ago I worked in a fast food restaurant. We were told the ice and cup were more expensive than the soda.

Excellent post. Cut them off from soft drinks for a week or so.

This is going on across the country where, due to the policies of the Socialist Democrats which have resulted, in part, to the extraordinarily high level of unemployment (despite the lies of the obama synchophants), cities and counties which continue to pay high salaries and obscene pensions are desperate for money.

Agreed. A town near us just hiked taxes on a whole range of items such as food and drink at restaurants. Reportedly, few people showed up at the Council meeting to protest, and what objections were raised were mainly perceptions of how certain businesses would share more of the load than others.

No one stands up, reads out a list of the tax increases for, say, the last 20 years, and says “where, and in what manner, does this end? (I am reminded of the episode of Babylon 5 where Centauri Ambassador defends expanded Centauri military attacks against their neighbors as (paraphrasal) “we are merely creating a buffer zone.” Capt. Sheridan asks “Then you tell me Ambassador, where does this end?”, and Mollari cannot answer... )

Meh - poor grammar! Typing too fast. That should read: “...Centauri Ambassador Mollari...”

U. S Open is at the Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh this past week.

Homeowners who live near the club are letting people park in their yards for a fee.

Allegheny County announced that they will not allow this to happen next time. Basically, they can't collect taxes and they are crying boo-hoo.

Bloodsuckers, yes.
