As Churchill said of history repeating itself. The gist of it that it too often action comes with too little, too late. Countries fail themselves until their back is against the wall. Many fall because of it.

We are being over run by foreign populations seeking our overthrow and demise, and accommodating politicians who are Chamberlains redux.

Maybe you’re correct, but in your scenario, while we were waiting for a new party to coalesce, the Democrats would unimpeded single party rule at all levels of government.

You're saying that like that's not already the case.
Remember what the Republicans have done over the last decade?

  1. Remember how hard they fought to keep fiscally responsible policies and actually have a balanced budget?
  2. Remember how they stood against the overreach of the Patriot Act?
  3. Remember how they stood against the NDAA that, conceivably, authorized drone-strikes on US Citizens?
  4. Remember how hard they fought Fast & Furious and to bring those perpetrators to justice?
  5. Remember how hard they fought to find the truth behind Benghazi and bring those perpetrators to justice?
  6. Remember how hard they fought against the IRS's political targeting?
  7. Remember how hard they fought against the NSA's domestic espionage?
  8. Remember how hard they fought against the Iran deal?
I remember a whole lot of nothing for the answer to those questions.
I also remember just before the 2014 elections the Republican leadership was boasting about how it was going to push amnesty through.

We can only hope that Priebus is truly polling the state delegations for feedback, on the possible number of real defections from TRUMP at the Convention and learn if they are real or imaginary numbers.

If they are planning a coup why would anyone expect them to tell the truth about their plan? Polling them on that issue is a waste of time, so what is the real reason?

Are you really sure that Donald Trump stands for any of those eight positions? Novelty aside, he’s shown little in the way of consistent conservatism in his entire life.

I think the novelty of his brash political incorrectness holds little sway with huge swaths of the GOP.

I have made it clear to my Congressman and Senator, Attorney General and state candidates. If you don’t support Trump, loudly and vocally and put a stop to this nevertrump business I will vote against Republicans all the way down ticket, now and in the future.

Traitors to their country are not "born again" through campaign or reason. But your concerns are concernedly noted. Right here in the "Concern" file. Entitled "To whom it May Concern".

I think you completely missed my point, which was: the Republican party stands for nothing. (At least nothing it says it does.)
As far as Trump goes, he at least does stand for something: his Make America Great Again is all about scrapping the terrible trade deals that have been foisted on us by our incompetent and/or evil leadership.

Ryan is simply a willing microphone blowjobber to the media

He needs to go

Most of the pros smell the cobbler

Some like Ryan want to defeat Trump for personal gain

I’m a southerner

Knowing what shits the GOP can be is in my blood

They need to be Whigged into irrelevance

National party or liberty party

Patriotic Front

Something

A new banner

I am so far past “concerned” you’d be amazed. I was working on “resignation” and “acceptance” months ago.

The same folks who are worshiping at the altar of Trump were proclaiming Romney as the savior of the Republic four years ago. It is too, too easy to get sucked into these enthusiasms. I grew up on Goldwater, Buckley and Reagan. From GHW Bush onward it’s been a steady decline. Trump is better than Clinton, but that’s not saying much and it’s not sufficient to win a national campaign with when your the minority party.
