Confirming once again that the entire US Middle-East campaign over the past 4 years has been one ongoing plan to destabilize and eliminate Syria's president Bashar al-Assad from power - certainly including the involvement of ISIS which as we reported a year ago was "created" and facilitated by the Pentagon as a tool to overthrow Assad, an analysis which yesterday gained renewed prominence - overnight the WSJ reported that dozens of State Department officials this week protested against U.S. policy in Syria, signing an internal document that calls for "targeted military strikes against the Damascus government and urging regime change as the only way to defeat Islamic State."
In other words, over 50 top "diplomats" are urging to eliminate Assad in order to "defeat ISIS", the same ISIS which top US "diplomats" had unleashed previously in order to... eliminate Assad.

It seems to me that the groupthink among the striped-pants, Ivy League educated denizens of Foggy Bottom is non-reality-based, just looking at policy and outcomes over the last 25 years or so, going back to the Balkans under Clinton. Strip it down to bare metal and start over, fire everyone, start with some Hillsborough grads.
Assad is pretty much the same as the other Islamic thug leaders, in fact better than some. What’s the REAL reason the establishment elitists so want rid of him so bad?

And every one of them are muslim and/or are getting paid by muslims. That is the motivation for this, anyone want to bet otherwise?
There is a good reason to take Assad down. If you recognize that Iran is at war with you, and you recognize that Syria is Iran’s window to the Mediterranean and the broader world, then taking him down closes that window. It would be the first step toward a take-down of Iran.
But we are helping Iran get a nuke. And we are encouraging them to increase their influence in Iraq. So, with that in mind, what on earth would be the reason to take down Assad if you are in bed with his patron?
IMHO, as bad as the Snake Department has been for all these many years, most of these “warmongers” would not be coming out like this if it were not for all the Saudi/Arabian Peninsula bribe $$$$$$ to replace Assad with an IslamoNazi (he’s more or less semi-secular) and shove their pipeline dream thru Syrian territory...etc.

Are these the same dozens of diplos who goaded Bush into toppling Hussein and goaded obama into toppling Gaddafi and thereby created the power vacuum in the Mideast that induced the rise of ISIS? I guess they’re now pushing for the current ISIS territory to be expanded into all of Syria by toppling Assad.
