Feinstein has been the driving force behind closing the San Onofre (Southern Cal Edison)and Diablo Canyon (PG&E) nuclear powerplants. I believe San Onofre is now closed. The state of CA refused to renew their operating permit forcing them to shut down.
They nee to stop worrying about the spotted owl smelt run (or whatever their current victim is) and build some more damn dams.
California: Home of the most suicidally idiotic people in the whole country. Lets see here (and help me find the logic if it is somehow hard to see):
-They are rabidly anti-fossil fuel, so coal-fired and oil-fired power plants are evil and bad... check
-They are rabidly anti-hydro electric because it is unnatural, bad for the environment and evil (poor little fishes and water slugs or whatever they are).
-they are often anti-natural-gas plant because of the supposed “environmental harm” from the gas industry...
And now they are shutting down the last of their nuclear power plants... for basically the same reasons they use for everything else...
So whats left? Solar power (roasting birds, and woefully expensive and inefficient). To power all of California, it would take half the state of Nevada being turned into a solar farm to power them... or Wind power - with its own expense, inefficiencies, and dead endangered birds and bats (and not to mention the eye sore)...
Is it something in the water or air in California that creates raving idiots?
