In a taped interview with CBS's John Dickerson that aired Sunday on "Face the Nation," Obama said that fact "says something about what's happened to the Republican Party over the course of the last eight, 10, 15 years."
Obama also reiterated what he said in a news conference on Friday: that he doesn't think the dark picture of America that Trump painted in his nomination speech is true, even in the wake of an attack on a Munich mall later that day that killed at least nine people.

And with the leaked emails, and maybe more to come, we already see that the Democratic party insiders were pushing for a very undemocratic nomination process.

Yeah we didn’t nominate someone who committed a serious crime against this nation. Someone who hasn’t repeatedly lied to the American public, nor a principle of a charity that is used as a pay for play and slush fund account.
Of course he would say that! Does anyone seriously expect him to admit that his administration has been an abysmal failure, and that just about every measurable parameter of economic and societal health has declined during his tenure? He would say the same thing if he had succeeded in taking us to where Venezuela is now. Thank God he didn't completely succeed, and thank God that Trump is willing to wade into the mess and try to fix it.
