Nevada advocates against domestic violence on Wednesday reaffirmed their support for Question 1, a ballot initiative proposing to expand firearm background checks to private-party sales and transfers.

Survivors and activists gathered at the Henderson women’s shelter Safe House to discuss the ballot measure, which Nevada voters will decide in November, and the prevalence of domestic violence in the state.

For the period from 2010 to 2014, Nevada ranked fifth nationally in the number of women killed by an intimate partner, according to a study released this year by Everytown for Gun Safety and the Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence. During the years covered by the study, there were 6.6 domestic violence gun homicides for every million Nevada women, compared with 4 nationally.

Serious question. IS there a Muslim factor in Nevada? Is there a Muslim honor killing factor there? Curious.

Why should we listen to anybody who advocates domestic violence?

“During the years covered by the study, there were 6.6 domestic violence gun homicides for every million Nevada women, compared with 4 nationally.”

The money sentence.

Never let it be said that Liberals and Leftists ever failed to generate a problem - with a government solution - where none exists.

As a Nevada resident, it is definitely NO on this. I have not seen any pro-material except a rare billboard. Not much signage against but it is much more visible. I’ll be in Las Vegas next week so will be interesting to see difference on this and on Clinton and Trump signage.

If a spouse or partner whatever, wants to do harm to their mate, a Law is not going to stop that. Rock, hammer, knife , or whatever will do the trick if angry enough.

The highest correlation to domestic violence is not guns.
Alcohol has the highest correlation. Every couple involved in domestic violence should be prohibited from any contact of any kind with alcohol. That would address the real problem.
