I’ve been posting about the misuse of the 50* laws here for at least a decade. It is way past time we give charity status to only those that feed, house or clothe the poor.
I remember Holly Robinson Pete going on and on about playing for her charity when she was on Celebrity Apprentice...about how she was doing good work, etc. I think she even shed tears
Then people started digging into the tax filings.
ahem.
But the memory of Celebrity Apprentice for me was when the Playboy Bunny talked about giving to charity and Joan rivers went off on her after Melissa was fired.
Joan was a charitable person and did charitable works. Then to Annie Duke “You give money with blood on it. I have met your people in Vegas for 40 years..YOU’RE A POOOKKER PLAYER...A POOOKER PLAYER....”
