A fairly balanced article, worth reading the whole thing.
I think it goes beyond this. Powerful forces are trying to get everyone used to the idea of sex between adults and children.

That’s what the equality movement has been about. Every movement if equality has been about opening up avenues to sexual fulfillment.

but, what if these perverts (can I use that word) find that this fuels their fantasies, instead of them being “satisfied”, so to speak?
What if they find that playing with a doll fuels their desire for the real thing; to do unspeakable things with a real child???

I say the answer to the question is ‘no’. Robots & Virtual Reality will serve as a substitute for the real thing when unavailable, but this act of uninhibited expression will only feed the sickness, or magnify the fetish in that person.
Better that such a person learn some form of aversion therapy, or distract themselves through (appropriate) acts of charity to others.

There is only one cure for pedophiles, it comes in various calibers.

Permitting access to perversion is not “fulfillment”. It’s license.

Why would he get the doll if the desires aren’t already there?

Could sex robots and virtual reality being shot in the head like a rabid dog treat paedophilia?

Good point. Only someone with those desires would get such a doll. I hadn’t thought of that.
Which then would likely lead him down the road to wanting a real child to act out his sick desires.

3D porn is still porn, and it will lead to child rapes.

I don't care, robot or not. This is wrong. People who never would have considered pedophelia might start trying it out in robotic form.
This is Satan's time.

Permitting access to perversion is not fulfillment. Its license. One of the toughest debates I ever had in Law School was on the topic of whether a man should be punished for possession of paedophilic drawings that he himself drew, with no models. No child was ever involved, and the drawings were not sold or disseminated to anyone else.
The main problems with your idea of "Permitting access to perversion" is defining permission, access, and perversion. He is accessing a piece of latex. We are permitting the purchase and sale of latex. You're defining this as perversion simply because of the size of the piece of latex. If it were scaled up 30%, you could have no valid argument with it. Do we next regulate the size of photographs in men's magazines?
