Use of arms to stop home invasions often leads to the arrest of the homeowner. In short, society and its institutions favor the criminal element. You may use a gun but you will find little support.
Only thing I was wrong about was the victim. I had guessed black on black crime instead of black on white crime.

I don’t recall whether Ivan Allen coined the phrase, but it does go back to the 1960s when Atlanta was trying to set itself apart from other Southern cities, particularly “Bombingham”. It was probably more a result of Martin Luther King not wanting to crap where he ate than any real liberal tendencies, although Bob Woodruff did pull strings from his plantation in south Georgia where the black help was well behaved.

Someone who can manage it should offer a nice monetary reward to any inmates at that jail who can get hold of the perpetrators and give them what they deserve. This is a situation where organized crime can really become a public-service organization.

This is why I try really hard never to be out of arm’s reach of my guns. People, especially the elderly, who live in proximity to groups known to include a high percentage of criminals should either relocate or arm themselves and get psychologically prepared to pull the freaking trigger until the ammo runs out. Unless, of course, they would prefer to die.

I will ask my standard questions: What were these idiots thinking? Did they really believe they were going to get away with it? Did they do a cost/benefit analysis, what they thought they would get vs what the punishment would be if they were caught?
