I’m with you. It is not the job of the Secretary of State to promote absentee ballot awareness nor mail unsolicited applications. Here in Pennsylvania, the voter either has to make the request or the parties pay for the mailing of unsolicited ballots to voters they have identified as friendly.

Why don’t they just leave a stack of mail-in ballots on the curb, on the “honor system” for people to vote?

Early voting for the Nov. 8 election is slated to begin on Oct. 12.

They are now part of the system and must be dealt with. We need a stack of republican absentee ballots at least as large as the democrat absentee ballots.
I prefer we return to same day paper ballots, but no one is listening to me.

On a tangential subject, did the governor of Ohio ever get around to supporting the nominee as he pledged to do?
NO. And Kasich should be forever barred from running for president as a Republican for BREAKING his sworn pledge.
They need to get started on this so that they can deliver the ballots to likely HRC voters in a timely manner. Likely DJT and military ballots might suffer mail delays.
And application for a ballot is an application for fraud.
The ballot is mailed, regardless. The application = the ballot.

Ohio votes by paper and there is always a paper trail. Honestly, the only voter fraud is usually in the Cleveland Area. Typically that has been in the voter registration area.
On your request for the absentee ballot you have to list the last four digits of your SS# or the last four digits of your Drivers License number.
Military has to vote this way; they have no choice.
Cuyahoga County BOE is a mess! I have a feeling they will have Secretary of State monitors.
Jon Husted, Ohio SOS, is not a #NeverTrumper. However he definitely openly supported Kasich in the Primary.
Since John Kasich is term limited and cannot run again. Jon Husted is rumored to be running for Ohio Governor; it’s in his best interest to make sure things go smoothly in this election.
