Muslim-American groups are applauding President Barack Obama's nomination of a Washington lawyer to serve in U.S. District Court — a move that could make him the first ever Muslim-American federal judge, according to advocates.
If confirmed, Abid Riaz Qureshi would sit on the District of Columbia's federal bench, the White House announced Tuesday. Qureshi, who graduated Harvard Law School in 1997, is a partner in the D.C. office of Latham & Watkins LLP, specializing in healthcare fraud, securities violations, and cases involving the False Claims Act, according to a White House statement.

I would be quite surprised if the Republicans have the gonads to stop this. To stop this politically and publicly the pubs must not get caught in a trap. They must focus on idealogy and beliefs and it has to be more than getting the nominee to denounce sharia. Muslims lie. They have to examine the person's statements and writings.

I once kicked the crap out of a Latham & Watkins lawyer by calling his bluff in a $20 Million dollar-plus case. Nothing like have a “smoking gun” document to shut up a smug ahole (and get a nice round of applause from my colleagues).
Msny of them are honorable so I don’t want to disparage them en toto. However, this one was hated by his own colleagues.
