Why not permit both Jewish and Arab merchants to use the empty space between the two towns to open a flea market, open to all.

While I applaud your optimistic nature, you should understand that public buses and pizza parlors have proven to be irresistible magnets for bombings from the arab side. I do not see any evidence that such an open-air market would have any chance of being secure.

Well, then, we ought to close down the Machneh Yehuda market in Jerusalem, the Kasbah in Hevron, the Shuk in the Old City of Jerusalem, and stop running all public buses and pizza parlors. The hell with that. Why don’t we all live underground in bunkers while we’re at it. Of course it’s a magnet. For those who hate life, anything positive is a magnet. But live we must, so let’s make the most of it.
