New Smithsonian hails accuser Anita Hill, barely mentions Clarence Thomas (or Thurgood Marshall)

The new Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture treats conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas like a mere footnote while heralding the woman who accused him of sexual harassment, Anita Hill.

Twenty-five years ago, Thomas became the second black Supreme Court Justice when he succeeded Thurgood Marshall, the first black justice.

Neither man's accomplishments as jurists on the high court get as much attention as Hill, though Marshall's work on a landmark case as a lawyer is recognized.

KEYWORDS: academicbias; blackhistory; clarence; hill; museum; smithsonian; thomas
Two things to note: One: the Smithsonian has had a left-wing, academic slant for decades. A decade(?) back, they had an exhibit on the Hiroshima/Nagasaki A-Bombings that drew considerable attack for being revisionist history.

Two: I believe that it is a given that abusers never can just stop their abuse. There will be a history before and a potential thereafter. William J Clinton being a well known example. Justice Thomas does not, to my knowledge, have anything outside Ms Hill's accusation!

—as I have commented on various forums. the looney left will not be satisfied until it is established that the Civil War was won by the slaves with hammers and sickles rather than men with rifles, muskets and cannon-—

Another institution run into the ground by man-hating feminazi’s. No surprise there.

For the record, Anita ‘the thrill’ Hill’s credibility on this is near zero. She’s almost as good an actress and liar as Michelle Fields.

Embarrassingly, I believed Hill during the confirmation hearing for Thomas. So sorry. I had become more enlightened when Clinton’s disgusting behavior became obvious. And then I saw Hill, on a morning program, say (when asked how she felt about Clinton’s behavior) ‘well, you really have to consider his voting record’. Leftists are without conscience......but that happens when your mantra is ‘by any means necessary’. And don’t get me started on the fact that ‘Feminists’ and the ‘Feminist Movement’ are really only for Left wing causes......they sure have never supported any Conservative woman in ANY endeavor.

I remember that and IIRC they were forced to pull the objectionable material by outraged veterans.

There are some few benefits to being unemployed. I was out of work during the hearings and was able to watch almost every minute. It was crystal clear that Hill was lying. Thomas brought in dozens of character witnesses, male and female who all told of a man who was truly beyond reproach in his dealing with his employees, in his public, work and personal life.

Of course, if you only saw the 30 second snippets the media chooses to show, of course you’d believe the conniving lying sack of trash called Anita Hill.

I’m glad you were able to break free

You are not as far off as you suppose. Back when I got to choose textbooks for my Jr High American history classes, my first run-through was to look at the illustrations accompanying the Civil War and World War I & II. In one, more space was devoted to women spies in the Civil War than Grant and Lee combined. Another text made it seem that the majority of WWI American soldiers were black. And of course virtually all of the ‘homefront’ coverage of WWII is devoted to women in the factories and ferrying aircraft, the Japanese internment, and the injustice of the zoot suit riots. As time has passed it has gotten progressively worse.

Yes, I was working full time then. Only saw the MSM’s side of the story. And have been a staunch Conservative since then. Hill was on a Saturday morning show, like the Saturday morning version of the Today show, and that is how I was able to hear her downplay Bill Clinton’s behavior.Typical Leftist.....by any means necessary.

Smithsonian has had a left-wing, academic slant for decades

True enough, but it provided an excellent teaching moment for WBill Jr and a fair bunch of other people this summer....

There's a large exhibit dedicated to Galileo. Much of it revolves around his persecution by the church, for promoting the utter heresy that the SUN, not the Earth, was the center of the solar system.

Anyway, on top of the exhibit, the docent made a big deal of pointing this out (maybe to make the church look bad? I dunno). I loudly commented that it would be good to keep Galileo in mind, the next time someone says that "The Science is Settled" on something.

Much nervous laughter from the parents in the group, with wide-eyed "Hmmmm"ing from the kids. I don't ace things every often, but it was game, set and match to me that afternoon.

This is an outrage and I plan to call them.

I was unemployed also and was able to watch virtually every minute of the confirmation hearings for Clarence Thomas as you did. The people who testified as to his totally upstanding character and integrity were completely ignored by the MSM and by my local liberal newspaper. I cancelled my subscription to that local newspaper and have never renewed it.

When he said “this is a high tech lynching” = he so nailed what was going on that his confirmation was at that time secure.....and Anita Hill will forever be remembered by anyone who actually saw the hearings and was not swayed by the leftist/communists in power in Congress at that time, as the liar that she was/is.

Thanks to the person who alerted us to this outrage.

‘’Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it’

At this point, it would seem that we are repeating the history of the Socialist countries of Europe and Eastern Europe......at the hands of those who worship the Socialist model of governing. I wish average citizens who wanted Socialism here, had had to live in a Socialist country for a year. The only ones who are happy in Socialist countries are those at the top.....they don’t have to endure the actual pain of working hard to support ten other people that they don’t even know.

It is historical malpractice to not mention either Justice Marshall or Justice Thomas. The Hill hearings are fact, and part and parcel of the story, but to omit placing it in context of larger and consequential careers is incomprehensible. Both Justices were part and parcel of multiple critical cases.
