Because you know, being a Marine means you have a lot of insight into the medical laboratory business. And Allen, got a nice job at the Brooking institute...pushing leftist policy. Powell, well he went to the board of venture capital firms and is now on the board of Salesforce.com. Petraeus is on a half dozen boards of directors, and as a professor at all kinds of leftwing universities. And he finds time to push gun control with Mark Kelly.
On the other hand, our last good General Norman Schwarzkopf. He turned down all efforts to get him into politics and remained independent.
He supported several children’s charities and national philanthropic causes, and he was a spokesperson for prostate cancer awareness, recovery of the grizzly bear from endangered species status, and after a lifetime love of hiking, served on the Nature Conservancy board of governors. Schwarzkopf otherwise sought to live out a low-profile retirement in Tampa, though he briefly served as a military.
