I hate to correct Col West, but I'm going to have to here. The saying fortune favors the bold comes from the old Latin proverb Forte Fortunas Juvat. Since it's a latin proverb it cannot have possibly come from Alexander, a Mecedonian or Greek. The saying is commonly attributed to either Cesear or Pliny.

I do not see a problem:
A) Donald Trump is manifestly a pragmatist rather than an ideologue.
B) Donald Trump is unarguably a bold leader rather than a timid one.
