In the modern day, the nation of Iran in the Middle East has become synonymous with Islamic extremism and terrorism. This is because the country is ruled by a religious dictator, the Grand Ayatollah, and is known to support radical organizations that share its uncompromising Muslim ideology. People worry, with good reason, that Iran will acquire nuclear weapons or otherwise strengthen itself. And this condition persists even as a majority of Iran’s population is young, progressive, and, unlike its government, not at all hostile towards the West.
Iran wasn’t always like this. It has a long and venerable history as the center of the famed Persian Empire, which goes all the way back, virtually unbroken, to 550 B.C. under Cyrus the Great. This first Persian Empire, the Acharmenid, was famously conquered around 330 B.C. by the Macedonian Alexander, but even then, the tenacious Persians carried on. Several Persian dynasties would rise in the centuries after Alexander, in fact, including the Seleucid, the Parthian and the Sasanian, down the line of history clear to 1979 A.D. Only in this very recent time was the long tradition of Persian (Iranian) monarchy broken, when the Islamic Revolution ushered in a new dark age of theocratic rule. And here it should be noted that Iran, while a majority Muslim nation since the 7th century A.D. (it mostly followed Zoroastrianism before that), always rejected absolute religious rule, until the Ayatollah took power in ’79.

Many of the royalty also followed Judaism even during the Parthian era. It was the Parthian/Israel backdrop that was behind the Christmas story of the 3 wise men.
The youth of Iran have been reaching back for their Persian past for some time now. While “officially” denied if not suppressed, the ancient New Year holiday of Nowrooz is commonly, if tacitly, celebrated in many homes.
Wouldn't it be great to see these people free? I knew a very bright young guy who was very proud to be a Persian and an American citizen who did it the right way.
This will be the only way to save Persia.
Clandestine support of the new generation that wishes to overthrow the ayatollahs.
Persian women are as beautiful as they come.
The Republic of Persia would be a good new name for Iran. The current name is not very old.
A few years ago, we should’ve helped them, but Zero didn’t. Now we can!
