Senate Republicans are wary of making a historic move to nix the filibuster despite growing pressure from conservatives.

Roughly two weeks after Donald Trump's White House win, GOP lawmakers are already facing calls to overhaul Senate rules and help push through the real estate mogul's agenda.

The calls to go "nuclear" are only likely to intensify next year when Democrats begin to carry out their pledge to fight Trump's agenda on areas where they disagree.

Don’t ask Mitch “The Turtle” McConnell to actually fight for the changes President Trump has promised his voters. He will hide behind the 60 vote excuse to block change, even though Harry Reid demolished that out-dated rule. The Trump voters in KY must put some real pressure on this old relic of the GOPe or President Trump’s agenda will be DOA.

The Republicans are right. If they nuke the filibuster, then the Democrats might do the same thing if they get the Senate b back.

Oh wait. The Democrats already did that when they had the Senate.

Nevermind.

You can count on some resistance from behind by certain RINO’s in the Senate.

Earth to Repulsicans: Nuke or be nuked.

Good grief, you gutless buttholes, can you ever learn?

They don’t want to nuke it so They can play games. With the 60 vote threshold then every republican will vote the conservative position. With a 50 vote threshold they will be smoked out like the dirty rats they are when they vote to destroy conservative apppintments. Calling john mccain.... calling lindsey graham. The thing is that the republican base now know how they have been played for fools

It’s more important that Dems are afraid of appearing obstructionist, so they will avoid giving cause for the fillibuster to be removed.
But the media has a ‘narrative’ to blame Republicans LOL!

It would be good to return the fillibuster to it’s original form- an actual, stand-up fillibuster.

The Dems nuked a lot of filibuster actions - if the Repubs don’t, then the Dems will if they ever regain power....they’re just demonstrating why they have earned the disdain of the constituents they never fight for.

Trump must figure out how to make them pay a big price for the cowardice of the Senate and the House!

They know what they are dealing with. Unfortunately, for the RINOs, it’s a source of kinship.

Maybe the people in those states need to get off their butts and control their Senators for once?

They are stupid enough to keep sending them back, it’s now time for them to actually demonstrate that they aren’t complete morons.

They will go nuclear and after they do, they will put in a law that prevents it from ever happening again. They can call it the Reid Bill, named after the idiot that went against decorum to push an agenda.

Sen. Lamar Alexander: “I think most Republicans understand that the Senate is not an institution to impose the majority's will on the country. It’s the one institution in the country that’s capable of developing consensus. The Obama administration found that when you try to cram things down people's throats in a partisan way they don’t last.”

For crying out loud, at least PRETEND to fight! He's still defending "the world's greatest deliberative body" nonsense.

"...when you try to cram things down people's throats in a partisan way they don’t last."

Did I somehow miss the repeal of Obamacare?
