Authorities believe the terror attack on Dec. 2, 2015 in San Bernardino may have been triggered by a mandatory training session and lunch replete with holiday decorations including a Christmas tree which shooter Syed Farook was forced to attend.
Emails discovered by the FBI and police reveal Farook’s wife, Pakistani native Tashfeen Malik, objected to the Christmas setting and was upset her husband had to go.
Just before the attack, Farook had posed with four fellow county employees in front of a Christmas tree in the conference room.
A short time later, 14 people were killed and 22 others injured when Farook and his wife opened fire at the meeting with assault rifles.
“She had essentially made the statement in an online account that she didn’t think that a Muslim should have to participate in a non-Muslim holiday or event,” said San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan in an exclusive interview with ABC News, that aired on the ABC News program Nightline.

Not true. The wife was not seeing the Christmas decorations. They planned this. It came long before Christmas. The party just gave opportunity to get the most victims and that’s it.
So a Christmas tree was the cause instead of the Islamic admonition/obligation to conduct jihad against “infidels”?

It’s more than just an excuse. it’s an attempt to shift the blame. It’s not the murderer who was at fault here, it’s the evil Christmas-party planners.
And a Christmas tree isn’t even really a Christian symbol.

I remember listening to the police radio on line. They had a helicopter overhead, and dozens of officers advancing — with weapons drawn — through the garage.

So as soon as they got the Christmas Party invitation they began ordering terrorist materials to kill the party?
No one would believe this.
So...the attack was, indeed, instigated by the killers’ Islamic faith? Golly.
They could have celebrated diversity.
They could have put up with it.
They could have complained & gotten a waiver.
They could have just not gone.
But as a matter of their faith, in whatever details apply, their response was to violently attack people showing the most tenuous respect for a Christian tenet. (And we’re talking seriously tenuous. Safe to assume there were zero religious images/icons involved, and if there were it was a minuscule fraction of the decorations featuring nothing subjectively more objectionable than snowmen & trees.)
So...it was an Islamic hate crime?
They saw a Christmas tree and spontaneously went out for an arsenal complete with rifles, pistols, and related tactical gear. Either...
1) They were terrorists who were preparing for an attack and found a gathering worthy of their effort. They shouldn’t have been here.
or
2) There were ordinary muslims who are so concerned about Christian religious symbols that they will commit mass murder when exposed... in which case, they shouldn’t have been here.
