“Why doesn’t anyone , I mean anyone, say TEA PARTY anymore?
(Isn’t that where this movement originated?) “

I think there was a massive change in the electorate and that change was broadly referred to as the Tea Party. But I don’t think an actual party existed. I am hard put to name a spokesman who had an office rented under the name Tea Party. I think this was a real grass roots movement. With the movement’s goals of electing somebody they thought could roll back years of liberalism possibly filled, the movement has gone dark. But like shoals in the path of ships, we are still there waiting for another low tide to reveal us again.

I understand all that.

The discontent was called The Tea Party and with much disdain by the MSM.

Didn't Trump assume the leadership of the disconteted.....The Tea Party people? The working, middle class?

Jenny Beth Martin would probably disagree with you.

But, IMHO, she's more about the money than Conservatism. A paragraph from the Wikipedia article:

I think about that every time she sends me an email begging for money.

In my mind, part of the problem with the Tea Party is that there were a whole lot of people who jumped on the Tea Party bandwagon to make money. Hard to know who is the real Tea Party and who is a scammer.

We have been solicited by so many claiming to be Tea Party. Recently, we have been getting calls almost daily from “Tea Party”, but, thanks to caller ID, we do not answer.

I think that part of the problem arose when the real Tea Party people did not want the group to have any powerful leaders, so there was no central direction or control of who could call themselves “tea party”.
