The District of Columbia’s most prestigious neighborhood used tax money to commission a work of art honoring Hillary Clinton.

The artwork, titled “Red, White, and Hillary Blue Diamonds,” consists of five aluminum frames illuminated by LED lights. The diamond-shaped structures are installed in three locations, where they serve “as gateways into Georgetown.”

The installations are “dedicated to former Senator Hillary Clinton, who is the beacon of dignity and guiding light, as a thank you for her strength as we move forward,” according to a placard next to the art.

It should be titled “Beacon of Indignity and Guiding Blight”

It really doesn't get much more stupid than that. Maybe it's old money people living so deep in a bubble they don't know which way is up in reality.

These people are self-deluded fools, blinded by faith in nothing. Nothing will remove the veil of deception from their eyes.

Seriously?

Wasn’t Georgetown used as the locale and outdoor shots of “The Exorcist”?

'The diamond-shaped structures are installed in three locations, where they serve “as gateways into Georgetown.”'

I wonder if they've thought of naming the three gateways after Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, and Paula Jones...?

Maybe somebody could pass the suggestion on to them.

I guess historic district restrictions don’t apply, in Georgetown.

“Maybe it’s old money people living so deep in a bubble they don’t know which way is up in reality.”

I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what it is. G’town is populated by a LOT of heirs and heiresses to great fortunes who want to be in DC “where the action is” and who would easily fund an idiotic tribute to HRC.

I don’t know, tho, that it helps tourism and business in Georgetown. But what would the donors care? Their living isn’t dependent on Georgetown commerce.

Same 'triangular shapes' as in this piece of artwork. Gateways, so to speak.

I lived there decades ago for a few years; a place filled with the snottiest, coldest, most self-centered and uncaring people I ever met.
