Yup, didn’t say it was right but that’s what we called them in this neck of the woods.

The “nasty white faced sons of bitches”. LOL

My grandfather was a cop in NYC back in the 30-40’s. One day he brought one home and it almost killed their dog (Patsy) by clamping on to its neck.

My grandmother had to beat the hell out of it with a broom before it let go. To which she promptly told my grandfather to get that dog the hell out of here!

My grandfather was always bringing cars and dogs home.

The collies were/are sweet and beautiful. There were several farmers in my dad’s church, and all of them had collies.

In the 50s and 60s, it was the go-to dog because of Lassie, I guess. So gentle and as you say, so beautiful!

Patton was killed for criticisms.

Willie had nothing to do with it.

Well you’re partially right. It wasn’t Willie that was involved, it was another dog that belonged to General Gay.

The dog was riding in a trailer behind the limo and Patton took pity on him. Patton put the dog in the passenger seat where he had been riding and took a seat in the rear of his limousine. His injury came from hitting the metal and glass partition between front and rear seats. If he had kept the passenger seat he wouldn’t have had that particular injury. He was the only one injured out of the four involved in the accident.

An Army truck pulled out of a supply yard in front of Patton’s car. It was a low speed crash and at first no one realized that Patton had been injured. No one else was hurt in the crash. Since the accident had involved Patton it was investigated by officers. Neither enlisted driver was disciplined by the Army. Patton survived nearly two weeks but he had suffered a broken neck and was paralyzed. He died of a heart attack possibly brought on by pneumonia.

In order to be something other than an accident the plotters would have needed to know that Patton and Gay would decide to go pheasant hunting, and they would have to predict that a low speed collision that injured no one else would kill Patton. Ockham’s Razor would suggest that it was an accident.

If Trump hasn’t chosen to have a dog before now, he certainly doesn’t need one while he’s focused on saving the country.

But Baron is at a great age for a dog.
