Donald Trump is Time magazine's Person of the Year

US President-elect Donald Trump has been named as Time magazine's Person of the Year for 2016. The property tycoon took the title after winning an unexpected victory over Hillary Clinton in November's presidential election. Mr Trump told NBC's Today show shortly after the announcement it was a "great honour" which "meant a lot" to him. He was chosen from a shortlist that also included Mrs Clinton and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Time is just desperate to sell copies. That’s the only reason Trump is on there. So much for principle, eh, Time?

Their clientele is heavily lefty. Hillary would have made more sense from that viewpoint. This is something more.

You’re right, this is about selling magazines. The newsstand copies will be snapped up. They will get orders for multiple copies to be given as Christmas gifts. It sure wasn’t admiration.
