Urgent appeal: California Democrats to invoke new anti-Trump weapon
Los Angeles Daily News ^ | 12/11/2016 | Laurel Rosenhall

As they suit up for battle against the Trump administration, Democrats who dominate California’s Legislature vow to unleash one of the superpowers of holding a supermajority: the ability to enact laws immediately. An underplayed consequence of the fact that they won two-thirds of the seats in both houses last month is that—if they stick together—California Democrats have the required margin to pass a bill with an “urgency” clause. Unlike ordinary bills passed by a simple majority, bills with urgency clauses take effect the minute the governor signs them, and cannot be stalled by voters who might try to prevent them from becoming law by forcing a ballot referendum.

California Democrats now have a sense of urgency in maintaining their illegal alien importation system. Can't wait to watch them defunded.

They should be prosecuted for harboring illegal aliens.

The California Legislature can not force the Feds to provide more $$$$ to fund their perfidy.

Why would Californians want to maintain a stream of illegal immigrants into California? What is it that they like so much? The criminal element? The overtaxing of the education, welfare, hospitals and prison systems? The overcrowding? The increased demand for bi-lingualism? What am I missing?

Though it’s fun to joke about it; there is a slim, but real, chance that either Russia or China could end up owning California.

I’m sure they both have plans to accomplish that, without even firing a shot.

Russia has already stated that they want Alaska back. they claim that they got screwed on the deal.

The Calexit nutbags may be funny, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous, useful-idiots.

The liberals and the eGOP have spent the last generation completely gutting the 9th and 10th amendments. They have turned the Federal Government into a massive legal behemoth whose slightest whim is imposed on the States.

NOW they want to stand behind States Rights?

Until we reset the balance back to how it was intended by the USC I say we use this weapon so lovingly forged by the left and override all of California’s anti-American “laws.”

Voting for Treason is not allowed. Use the power we have to shut it down.

New weapon? He is not even President yet, makes me wonder what the old weapons were and when they were deployed?

immigration is a federal, not state, matter

and so long as a state depends on federales for $$$ subsidies, no state is going to be able to get away with blocking or undermining federal immigration law

(I DO wish to see the day when the states get control of their own finances are are NOT depending on WashDC so much..... !!!!!! this should be a MAJOR priority for us now, imho....)

“Who are these butt wipes to speak for all of California.”

They are the lawful elected leaders in a representative government. It is their job to speak for all of California. Those who don’t wish to be spoken for should move as many have and many more will.

The Democratic party shifted from a Communist style class warfare model to a new identity group model. This is why they lost so many white worker votes and this presidential race. There are substantial problems with their new business model. Not the least of which is the identity groups have different and incompatible interests. Does a black voter see unlimited immigration by Hispanics as good for them? That’s doubtful.

Regardless, the Democrats are doubling down on a paradigm shift that has already proven itself a failure. I think it was Napoleon who said, “When your opponent is committing suicide, don’t stop him.”

If California were to secede it would end up as another Venezuela or any other Latin or Central American country. Lots of economic potential because of its proximity to valuable natural resources, but run into the ground economically by idiot leftists in charge of the government.

How exactly can they hold these two positions at the same time?

1) State and Local law enforcement cannot participate in or support federal immigration enforcement, such as by detaining illegal aliens, or turning criminal alien arrestees over to the feds, etc., because the Constitution says immigration is the federal government’s job.

2) The State of California can pass laws to contradict and estop federal immigration law, and prevent the federal government from enforcing federal immigration law.

Can’t see how any court could allow this nonsense to stand.
