In 1977, Carl Bernstein published an exposé of a CIA program known as Operation Mockingbird, a covert program involving, according to Bernstein, “more than 400 American journalists who in the past 25 years have secretly carried out assignments for the Central Intelligence Agency.” Bernstein found that in “many instances” CIA documents revealed that “journalists were engaged to perform tasks for the CIA with the consent of the managements of America’s leading news organizations.”
Fast-forward to December 2016, and one can see that there isn’t much need for a covert government program these days.

The only thing I’m pondering re:this article is the usage of “is” or “are” when referring to the media. That dang singular/plural always trips me up!

Yeah, for some reason it’s been a difficult rule for me to remember - I think because most people seem to tend to use the singular in most cases.

Even worse is that the CIA actually will not come out officially and say it was Russia. This is caused by an unnamed source according to the NY Times
Because they want to believe anything that will save their stature - and it is absolutely about stature. Their meaning and celebrity is tied to the leftists and the success of leftist politicians. Ironically, this connection to the pseudo-progressives helps them to hold on to their position within the bourgeoisie oligarchy. In a convoluted way that they are often blind to, they embrace the left in order to belong to the oligarchy - a form of societal royalty.

The media is paid for by the marketers of Chinese goods.
They want to weaken both the US and Russia: “Let’s you and him fight”.
Throwing Russia further into dependence on the Chinese and weakening Trump would be VERY good for those the media is dependent upon for their salaries.
Quite a large number of CIA employees are going to have to be fired.

CIA Director John Brennan lied before Congress regarding the CIA’s hacking Congressional staffer’s computers.
It’s come to be used as a single entity as in the Intelligentsia.
Remember that hacking is covert illegal access to info systems data to change that data and thus an impact a result. Leaking is making private info public which is what happened to Podesta and the DNC.
So, according to 0bama and his minions Putin leaked data proving that Hillary and the media worked together on media coverage and debate questions.
