As gun sales have skyrocketed over the past 19 months, ammunition sales have also surged, with “17,850 tons” of imported ammunition being sold in the past 12 months. That is nearly 18,000 tons of ammo in a year’s time and approximately “2,865 tons of bullets” that were imported in November alone.

That is just imported ammo. Wonder how much domestically produced ammo was sold?

Side note: Cabelas had a good supply of 22lr yesterday, but going fast.

I just bought about 60 lbs of 7.62 Russian. You really can’t have too much.

Glad I could contribute to that.

My way of “Giving something BACK”... and “Making a DIFFERENCE” (he said, in a whiny, thoroughly annoying voice...)

That's only two ounces per person in the US. Your gun could starve to death on that.

That’s only 900 truckloads, 75 truckloads per month. Domestic ammo has got to be far more.

Only if you ignore the other 2450 or more rounds already in possession.
In other words, a box of 50 is really nothing much, until you add it to the other 49 boxes already stored.

Speaking about volumes of foreign ammo purchased, “........... Domestic ammo has got to be far more.”.......

If you are lucky enough to find any and want to pay super inflated prices. It’s called supply and demand.

Bought 500 rds of 70s German military surplus 7.62x51 and it was as good as the high end ammo as far as accuracy plus my M1A1 loves it.

The Korean PMC Bronze in .223 is excellent. So is the Israeli IMI and the Australian Outback brand.

There were some good ammo deals on Black Friday. I got 350 rounds of .45 ACP (Remington and Winchester) from Cabela’s and Academy Sports, plus a bit of this-and-that. Free shipping, too.

I like PPU for 9mm and 9x18 Mak.

I’ve read that they manufacture closer to mil specs so they are a little hotter.
