No need to read any further. Its obviously fake news. Even a moderately skilled IT team doesn't take "a few years" to terminate an intruders access to a system. A few days is more like it.
For a high value system, they should be running the service in a virtual machine with a known clean image saved nearby. Within hours of detecting the breach the service should have been switched over and running on a known good image in a new virtual machine. And every logging tool known to man would be watching the traffic in and out of the new instance of the service to see if the attackers return.
The IT teams in the federal government may not be the greatest, but they aren't total idiots either. And I would guess that the IT guys keeping the White House, State Department, and Joint Chiefs of Staff email systems running have close ties to technical people in the FBI, CIA, NSA, and DOD, and ready access to IT security experts in the private sector.
Why the Democrats and the New York Times are spewing propaganda about the Russians is the real question we all need to delve in to.

That’s easy, discredit Trimp and his victory. Every thing Trump does from now on will be framed as hurting the US and helping Russia.

Same reason that Baghdad Bob was in front of the international news media declaring that Iraqi forces were slaughtering the US-led invading ground forces. It was to keep the Iraqi forces and civilian populations from fleeing.
Dem leadership has to keep its base from turning on them and themselves. The cry of ‘Russians Hacking’ is supposed to unify the dem base aginst the unfair cheating of Trump deplorables and take the burden off the back of incompetent dem leaders who are the real culprits in the loss to republicans.

1. If the stuff that was hacked is genuine - and it's pretty obvious that it is - the real story is what the DNC was doing and who their candidate was, not how the information became public.
2. If the Russians really hacked the DNC, why hasn't it occurred to the NYT and the other pressboobs that they must have also gotten all of Hillary's classified e-mails while she was at State too.
The enemy really isn't Russia: it's the pompous pinheads that are too high and mighty to bother with security while pulling stuff they don't want anyone to see.
Its a simple story really.
Hillary Clinton gets millions of dollars through the Clinton Founation and Fundraising. Soros inserts millions into the rectal cavities of community organizer networks of the Dem left.
All of this money was given to buy access to the Hillary Clinton presidency, and to create a leftist hegemon that would last a hundred years and weaken America.

Now there are a whole bunch of very pissed off donors.

And just coincidentally, the Russians donated no money to the Hitlery campaign.

There are no Russians who did as they are accused. If the election was influenced, it was influenced by the massive foreign Clinton donors through the Clinton Foundation.No one foresaw Trump or the beating hearts of American Patriots who voted hin to the presidency.
And the international community who donated so heavily to the Clintons? You have learned a lesson: Never back a dark horse. And may dem heads roll.
