It seems the headline could have said he was founder of Virtu Financial, rather than emphasizing his ownership of a sports team, which seems to trivialize him a bit. But maybe I’m overreacting, seeing a slight where none was intended.

“Viola is a former U.S. Army infantry officer and the founder and chairman of Virtu Financial. He still must be approved by the Senate.
Viola is a West Point graduate and U.S. Army veteran. He was trained as an Airborne Ranger infantry officer and served in the 101st Airborne Division. And he brought that Army background to the Panthers, changing their logo to mimic that Airborne Divisionand bringing a military sense to the managerial structure of the team.”

Another laughable no-qualifications Trump nominee!

After all, he could just as well keep Obama’s appointee Eric Fanning as Army Secretary, who is singularly qualified: he never served, has been a lifelong government bureaucrat, and he is openly gay!

“Trump has announced on Monday that he nominates Vincent “Vinnie” Viola, owner of the Florida Panthers, as Secretary of the Army. Viola is a former U.S. Army infantry officer...”

Well sure, Trump nominated someone with actual Army experience...But Oblahblah nominated an openly gay civilian to head the Army...So apparently one’s ability to play buttdarts is more important than actual West Point / infantry officer experience.

Great News! Let’s see what he does about SECNAV. Navy is a mess, compared to Army, in a lot of ways. It will take someone with equal qualifications to do that job!

I don’t really care who is protecting the President — as long as they do a good job. There is one thing I’ve noticed - and I hope I’m not the only person to do so.

Anybody remember 9/11/2001? Now, with that in mind, go to Google Earth and look at Trump Tower in NYC. It has a good view of Central Park, an area that could also provide a path for a smaller jet to impact the upper floors of the tower.

If The Donald is planning on living there during his tenure as POTUS he might as well paint a target on the wall facing the park. As far as depending on conventional defensive measures to protect the Prez, I believe the Pentagon was similarly “protected” by a ‘No Fly Zone.’
