“I graciously thank the American people for allowing me to be in the White House and with my husband and daughters. This marks a major event in American history where a black man was president of the United States. I hope and wish that this is a turning point and that those like me will find comfort that we have come a long way as a people.
Now is the time for us to hand the keys over to our successor and I and my husband wish him and his family the best. And most of all, we wish the American people the very best.

Strange. My husband lost his job as Obama entered office, because of the economy then, which started a downward spiral for my family. We are broken and hurting since then and also since then have never had even a weekend’s vacation. I don’t agree with your last sentence but mooch sure is. She wondered aloud with Oprah why the American people called her an “angry black woman.” Maybe the perennial scowl did it.
I’ve been around many in SE MI for many years. In school, workplaces, stores, summer fests, other venues. I know what I see and hear, and call it as I see it.
