For the last 10 years, the number of millennials who have failed to move out of their parents or grandparents homes has climbed steadily, according to new data.

Nearly 40 per cent of young adults are either living with their parents or other relatives, which is the highest point in over seven decades, new data from real estate analytics company Trulia states.

This is the highest point in 75 years where young adults have just stayed at home with no plans on moving out.

The only other time in American history where the share has been higher was back in 1940, when the economy was recovering from the Great Depression.

Something to keep in mind is that the draft for WW2 started in 1940 almost 2 years before Pearl Harbor. Many Army wives moved home with Mom during this time. My Mom and Dad were in this boat. You got drafted and you were in a year then you were out. My Dad had 11 months in on 12/7/41 and did not get out till Summer 1945. As Dad said, “I got out of the Army, but the Army never got out of me.”

Why would you make us open such a bull sh## website with no stats but a lot of advertisements and annoying left wing headlines and music blasting?

Next time don’t.

People grow more conservative as they grow older and we don’t know the margins of victory and if they were on that page the amount of garbage thrown on it forced me to close it.

Seventy Five years ago it wasn’t unusual for people to live with their parents until they got married.

Sometimes they lived in the same big house afterwords.

A lot of Italians did.

This time, it’s just about being a child forever.

ALL of my nephews and nieces that have graduated college are doing well and are out of the house.

The 13 year old still lives home :)

You're darned tootin! That's why I am afraid of us getting complacent. If the Dems had chosen a better snake oil salesman, and used promises of student loan forgiveness to bring the pajama people to the polls, we would have lost.

We have a long, hard slog of re-educating the young ahead of us. Otherwise once enough of us go to that great Tea Party in the sky this will become a Peoples' Republic.

(most of my kids' millennial friends sat this one out....they did not like nor trust Hillary, but had totally consumed the media Kool-Aid that voting for Trump made you a racist.)

President Trump will be so successful that they will forget about Hillary.

They also routinely got married as teenagers. We are partly to blame by so favoring overinvesting in big houses with the mortgage tax deduction that saving capital ny make use of some of that wasted space until the parents are ready to downsize makes sense.

Its so bad that libs are now promoting the idea that a return to multi-generational households is a good thing.

Failed economic models are now “progress”.....

The majority of parents today seem totally okie-dokie with their kids having overnight guests of the opposite sex.

So why pay rent??

There were millennials who did vote for Trump but had to keep it quiet.

That would all be fine if they contribute to a functional household. How many of these yutes just use their folks house as a crash pad and a place to keep their beer cold.

Not always. Kids can’t get jobs and so can’t rent apartments. My nephew lives alone but I suspect his wealthy dad is paying the bills. I think a lot of this is economically-driven while, yes, some are pajama kids. Mostly the ones out protesting.
